Garden Management Journal
Clocked another delightful afternoon after going in for acupuncture at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.
We had some rain today. Hope we get some more. I am going to check.
The cloud cover was delightful and I went to the Trees for Health Garden right from PCOM.
I walked around the Trees of Health Garden, delighting in the lighting that allowed perfect photos.
I visited the Butterfly Weed Patch, and started to get familiar with a few other new friends that are growing there. I was glad to find the Black Walnut Tree. I learned up against it. I was glad that tree had my back.
Then I went to WFM Hillcrest down the street.
I am getting into the practice of carrying my own food, but I did not prepare today as I did Saturday. On that day I had food with me for three meals.
I wanted to get some raw aduki beans as my mentor WS had suggested. He said that boiling them for fifteen minutes and drinking the water would be good for my kidneys.
I saw numbers of people who were on the internet. I got excited. I went up and got my laptop and took it to the 7th Street Pub. I found a place to plug in. Step One, yes!
Then, I attempted to get online. My provider came up, but I did not trust the connection. A message came up that said could be unsafe. I did not want to take the chance of getting my personal info stolen.
I was getting hungry. I order some sushi. I was perched at a table with the TV Screen in front of me. What a perfect Feng Shui perspective. I started to feel inspired.
I was sad that I could not get online. The bartender told me that WFM Hillcrest does not have free internet Wifi.
I started to pack up. I stopped to check with the other internet users. They have personal hotspots.
Sitting there was a big breakthrough for me. I felt like I was practicing for my summer trip up the coast to promote The National Heirloom Expo #Heirloomexpo.
My original plan before I became aware of more kidney stone issues in December, was to journey up the coast stopping at Whole Food Markets on the way.
I have been in disappointment that perhaps that might now happen as I imagined. I wanted to begin with #Expowest March 3-10, but I may very well in in a kidney stone procedure Feb 25, just six days before March 3, my presumed day of departure to Anaheim.
The thought of missing that show is disheartening. It symbolized the beginning of my campaigns each year.
Truly, this is a different kind of year. I am reinventing slowly…my campaign has already begun…it is about Winning Back My Sacred Seed before I can Win Back Our Sacred Seeds. How appropriate.
So why wait? Yes, the year will be different, but I will start my journey with the next steps.
Those include:
Getting info for a personal hotspot so I can use my iPhone to get internet for my MacBook Pro.
Stopping at the Water Lady Store tomorrow to find a simply solution to fulfill more easily by water needs at home…
and going to the App[e Store for a back up cord that will always be in the EG Mobile for traveling. This will be a good investment.
IF I Had gotten on the internet tonight at WFM Hillcrest
These are some of the inspirations I had for #Heirloomexpo:
One the Hillcrest store I am envisioning as my first stop on the Journey to Santa Rosa in August…
We will have flyers here for the National Heirloom Expo…
I am going to pursue the idea that @rareseeds can be sold within WFM.
That is a dream I have.
I want to write up the blog story about my experience bringing Local into this store in 2005. That will be a biggie.
It is also a biggie the WFM sponsored the press room at @Heirloomexpo last year.
I envision a WFM bag supporting the expo.
I want to build up the importance of the #heirloomexpo for what it is….
a real ag event.
Lots of other great things happened talking today to Paul Wallace.
I will add more photos here.
Time to get off the computer.
