World's Dirtiest Oil and some Very Ugly Politicians by Karlin .....
P.M. Harper [Canada] is colluding with Oil Corporations to get their very dirty oil from the Tar Sands to China via the proposed Enbridge Gateway Pipeline. Our PM's lies and corruption are unparallelled in Canadian history.

World's Dirtiest Oil and some Very Ugly Politicians
For those of you who are interested in the Canadian Tar Sands, and the "government-corporate corruption" issues of today, there are some interesting developments outlined in a report from Ms. May, the Green Party M.P. [Canadian Federal Government Member of Parliament].
It concerns the Enbridge Gateway Pipeline that, if built, would carry Tar Sands crap to the coast of British Columbia and put it on Supertankers going to China and other Asian nations.
And, just an FYI - The stuff in the pipeline is called "DilBit" - diluted bitumen - which is bitumen from the Tar Sands soaked in benzene and other solvents to thin it out so it can be moved in pipelines.
I made some edits to Ms. May's report and submitted it as a comments to the mainstream media that failed to mention any of this in their recent articles about Prime Minister Harper's big push to get the Gateway Pipeline approved.
Some Quotes:
Documents from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans say:
“Behaviour models specific to dilbit spills do not exist, and existing commercial models for conventional oil do not allow parameter specific modifications.”
Also, the BC government looked at the evidence and found that "Enbridge has not completed even rudimentary science to understand what dilbit does when it is spilled."
So, the Government of Canada announced that it will fund a study called the ‘Complementary Measures Project’ to "research and model the complex waterways in the Kitimat and Hecate Straights region". They committed $100 MILLION.
Ah, so Harper has agreed to spend over $100 million to support what should be industry based research. This, at a time when deep cuts to basic Canadian science projects are being made, tax dollars are being spent to do Enbridge’s homework for them!!
But WAIT, that implies something HUGE - the joint review panel process isn't done yet!! Why spend $100 Million to study how to tanker oil, and how a spill might be cleaned up, unless they KNOW the Enbridge Gateway Pipeline will even be built?
Ohhhhh, they DO know [because the review panel is a farce]?
Quote from M.P. May -
“If the [Gateway] project were approved, the spending on better weather forecasting along tanker routes and a developed understanding of how dilbit behaves in case of an oil spill would be minimum steps. Nevertheless, the project is not approved and tens of millions of dollars are being spent as though the process was a mere formality on the way to getting the dilbit boarded on super tankers through some of the most hazardous waters on earth.
