Met Richard M Ybarra, long time friend of César Chávez,

Met a very special man at the Day of Dialogue, April 27, 2013. His name is Richard M. Ybarra. We met soon after I set up my table at the Day of Dialogue. I called him over to plant his dream.

I did not know at the time that he was one of the speakers.

He told the legacy of Cesar Chevez, a man I have admired.

I have since learned that Richard Ybarra was the son in law of César Chávez

WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE

Fascinating to me was that not only did Ricard have personal stories about Cesar Chevez, but he told about his association with many other leaders including Ted Watkins of the Watts Labor Community Action Committee.

This spoke up my spirit. Richard talked about some of the projects of WLCAC. This were personally known to me. In 1969, I worked for WLCAC from a spring through a summer.
I had personal reference points to the projects that Richard remembered. This bonded us together.
