December Fast

Have started another long fast, the last one was about 2 months ago now and ended I suppose mid to end of October, went about 21 days in the end and came off eating very healthy organic veggie food at my Dzogchen Retreat :) It was really good, would have gone longer, to 40 days though if I hadn't come off on retreat - It's tough to leave home and go on trips and be in groups or in settings that take a lot more energy and keep up the fast, much better to fast when I'm in a controlled familiar environment - the food on the retreat was the perfect food to come off on, which probably didn't help, but you just use a lot of energy processing such high vibes and pure teachings as well and being on the retreat schedule etc! Got about 15lbs off on that fast, but kept abt 5 off after returning to eating, which is something good, but what I've seen so far is that I really need to go that extra length to 30 or 40 days to keep more of it locked in and get 10 lbs off etc for good. This fast I hope to get to that length of time - So no christmas dinner for me, no one to share or spend it with anyway (besides it never feels like christmas to me in Australia & who needs a pagan holiday...)
So I'm 9 days in now, and into my 2nd week back to my gym schedule, doing a lot of Dzogchen/Vajrayana practice and feeling very alive and improved by it all. Notice this fast I'm more dizzy than I have been on previous ones, when I stand up quick etc, no problem, just makes me a little more careful - get that rush a bit more often and just aware of it. I am tempted more to eat something as well, but I've resisted the temptation to feed a stomach that isn't actually in need and open up the gates of digestion, not sure if it's emotional craving or if its because of the gym schedule which has been pretty intense - but it feels good also to conquer the craving and see the results stacking up! My body is really transformed now, I've made a huge difference this year with these fasts and can really see my goal weight and shape fast approaching now - looking and feeling good about the old bod in a big way for the first time consistently in waaay too long, its damn liberating, getting back to looking like I'm in my 20's - and I feel total confidence now in where I'm going with this when I can look back and remember feeling total despair way back when I started the whole process. Got into sea and river kayaking and kayak/camping trips this spring/summer and that has been great too - don't know if I can fast out there tho - maybe, but hmmmm doubtful... Supposed to go out for a big trip just after christmas so kinda concerned that this will interrupt what I'm doing... Guess that's still 15 or more days away... so this might be the end of my fast this time - if so, I'll really have to focus on coming off slowly and eating small and well - the trip will be a lot of exercise at any rate and good for the soul (except for the killer insects!)
All for today, just wanted to update my blog and think I should head to the bank and gym now and keep up the good work :)
