Who owns the Organic Products Industry? by YourEnchantedGardener .....

Organic Spies Find Lies presumably is asking us to boycott organic companies who are owned by non organic companies. Just how many companies are in that catagory I would like them to tell us? Exactly what is their ultimate aim? Organic Spies Find lies calls for boycott of non GMO products from Silk? --What's up with this?

Saw a curious video this morning
railing on Dean Foods, the owner of
White Wave. White Wave has a number
of 100 % organic companies in the line up
of companies they own.

White Wave, thanks to Kelly Shea,
just midwifed, Silk, the soy based
non dairy drink line, into being
100% non-GMO.

The latest Organic Spies Find Lies
documentary, that I saw for the first time
this morning, congratulates Kelly Shea
for getting Silk in the to be 100% non GMO.

I read that news this morning as well.
Silk is part of an increasing trend of
products who are insisting, in spite of the
FDA insistence to make sure GMO products go unlabeled,
that they want to make sure that customers
have a safe source of soybeans.

Kelly, an organic advocate,
is a major cheerleader for Jeffrey Smith,
author of Seeds of Deception, the international
best seller that calls for GMO labeling.

I met Kelly at the same time I first met
Jeffrey. That was at the 2010 luncheon
of the Organic Farming Research Foundation
hot ticket networking event
at the Natural Product Expo West.

I took photos of Kelly Shea and Jeffrey Smith.
They clearly were allies.

Kelly, one of the lead advocates on know
for organics, is now on the Organic Spies Find Lies
bad list.

This is because, as I gather from a one time
looksee at the latest Spies Horror Docudrama,
because the boss of White Wave has many Non Organic
and GMO products.

So as I follow the logic of Organic Spies Find Lies,
we are not adviced to boycott all White Wave products,
including Silk.

HOW MANY ORGANIC COMPANIES
ARE OWNED BY NON ORGANIC COMPANIES?

So let me beg the question.
How many organic companies are subsidiaries
of larger companies that are non organic?

I know this is a long list.

I, for one, eat only organic.
I go out of my way to do so.

I would not drink Coca-cola even if it
was organic. Among other uses, I would use it
for cleaning my oven, or cleaning off pennies.
It also has a BPA can, that is implicated
in premature menstruation.

Should we not boycott all the companies
Coca-cola owns, some in the health field?

Should be boycott all the organic companies
that are now owned by larger companies?

This is a great approach to destroying
the Organic Industry,
Organic Spies Find Lies fans.

And to beg another question,
just exactly who does Organic Lies work for
and what do they really want to accomplish.

I wonder.

SILK NOW HAS AN ORGANIC LINE
OF SOYBEANS AND COCONUT AND ALMOND
DRINKS

http://www.sustainablelifemedia.com/news_and_views/articles/silk-brand-certif...

All Silk soymilk, coconutmilk and almondmilk products were enrolled in The Non-GMO Project’s Product Verification Program last year. In order to achieve verification, Silk demonstrated that all of its GMO risk ingredients are tested according to a rigorous and continuous program in compliance with the Non-GMO Project Standards, which include traceability and segregation requirements.

The Non-GMO Project’s verification seal will now appear on all verified Silk Soymilk, Silk Pure Almond and Silk Pure Coconut beverage packaging beginning in August.

“With more than 20 million consumers nationwide and an exceptionally high volume of soybeans, all from North America, Silk is a tremendous ally,” said Megan Westgate, executive director of the Non-GMO Project. “The verification of their beverage portfolio is an enormous boost to our non-profit mission of providing the public with an informed choice and preserving a non-GMO ingredient supply for the future.”

Silk made the Non-GMO announcement at the Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) Forum, which took place in Boulder, Colorado last week.

SILK SOYBEAN MAP

I will be researching before long
the person who came up with this
idea with the Silk company.

I will let you know who.

We're picky about our farms
Did you know that only 7% of the entire U.S. soybean crop is Non-GMO? And from that 7% we only source from a small group of farms. Explore the map, see the farms and learn what it takes to grow Silk-worthy beans.

ORGANIC HONEST TEA FOUNDER SPEAKS
ABOUT BEING OWNED BY COCA COLA

http://blogs.reuters.com/small-business/2011/05/20/honest-tea-founder-on-bein...

Seth Goldman, co-founder of Bethesda, Maryland-based organic beverage company Honest Tea, said his company maintains a small business culture, even though parent Coca-Cola Co increased its minority stake to full ownership in March.

With 2010 sales of $71 million, the company’s teas can now be found in national retail chains such as Kroger and CVS. Goldman, in Washington recently for an SBA National Small Business week event, spoke to Reuters about the transition.

Q: Were you able to maintain the Honest Tea culture after Coke took full ownership?

A: Absolutely. What’s really nice about us is that we still operate as a small business. We still run everything out of this one room office in Bethesda, Maryland. I’m still the Tea-EO. Our senior management team still really has stewardship of the brand and the business. We’re accountable for it. Our paychecks say Honest Tea, so in a way it’s a dual identity. We have a vending machine in our office now; it’s got Coca-Cola on the front and Honest Tea inside.

QUESTION:
SHOULD SETH GOLDMAN,
NO RELATION, BE HELD RESPONSIBLE
FOR THE BPA CANS THAT
COKE USES??????

MEANWHILE WHILE WE ARE OUT HUNTING
DOWN OUR OWN, THE FDA IS GOING AFTER
OUR SMALL FARMERS

Any concern there?
