I have been anticipating your arrival here
for many months, many longer.

I have had a sense that when you arrived
things were going to be different here,
and in my life.

We all have strengths and we all have weaknesses.

My strengths are that I am see and seed things.

I see and seed that you will make the most
of your time at SDSU in your athletic career there.

I will do all I can to support you in your success
through cheerleading for you and giving you
the moral support for the mental side.

We will also work together to make sure you
have the foods that you need to be the best you can be.

I love your enthusiasm for making things in the kitchen.

I love your love and awe for little natural phenomena,
such as yesterday.

I went to my worm bin and broke open
an old little ornamental squash. It was like opening
an egg, I learned. Inside, every single seed
had developed into a sprout that wanted
to go on to be the next generation.

Oh my God, it was so exciting!

We were in the midst of beginning to clear the back porch.

It was dirty kind of work at this stage.

I was feeling discouraged to see all the dreams
that I had set aside, that had potentially become
clutter. It was an excavation dig.

You were really good with helping.

I appreciated that you went through the bucket
with the tools and helped to separate was could be tossed out
and what was to keep.

I will go back and further look at what dreams I want
to rescue and take into the Fall.

There is a lot to do there in the Back Porch Project.

This space will become current with organized bottles
of grains and beans, living pots of sprouts, and some organized
spaces for baskets and containers.

Thank you for helping me to begin to get the space
organized for for the deep cleaning.

There is a hole in the overhead protector and water
leaks. That is part of why it is so dirty.

I will ask Doug to make some holes in the floor as well
so when it rains, the water can go through. It would be
good to have the overhang fixed too!

I just want to say thank you, Summer.

There is a lot to organize between us,
so we know how many hours you will put in between
deep cleaning in the house, and garden, and making sure
that you have have the space to study and get good grades.

There will be times when you see me feeling stuck
or scared and I do not know what to say because I am
feeling stuck in my feelings.

Other times, I will be joyful and inspired.

Right now, I just want to say thank you.
