CORN SONG So now! The earth is damp And ready to plant, Grab the dig stick, Today’s the day! So now! The seed is dry, And ready to plant, Grab the seed bag, Today’s the day! So now! The hole is dug, The empty nest awaits, Everything’s ready, Today’s the day! So now! The seed sits quiet Awaiting the sun, The rain has fallen, Today’s the day! So now! The seed has sprouted, Rising like a king, The leaves grow greener, Today’s the day! So now! The kernels are golden, Roasting on the coals, Filling the stomach, Today’s the day! So now! The harvest is over, The cobs dry in the barn, Stillness of winter Today’s the day!
