through magical connections,
that stones once rose from the ground
to form pyramids. It was through
intention, through massive love
and care and common bonding,
through cooperative living,
that individuals came up
to doing what some might thing
impossible.

begins with recapping an adventure,
and where it ends, I intend
is in inspiring you to rise up

Anthony Russo is out to make Green Living Easy
for the millions of fish in the sea and places on land that
are filling up fast with stuff called trash.

He has his heart in the right place.

He spends a lot of time overseas, making allies
among farmers, talking to leaders who influence governments.

He speaks publically and globally
about the need to go sustainable;
His website explains what sustainability means,
yet in his own backyard Enchanted Garden,
Anthony Russo, as thousands and thousands
of Evolutionary Leaders--as Beet Keepers among us--
likes nothing better than growing
exotic rare fruit trees,
and helping wherever he can--
in every way he can
to turn children and their parents back to what
is intended--a world where going Green is
going to be easy.

He started a company called EarthSmart.
Now he has BioSmart.

BioSmart is destined to become a household word,
not only at the nation's schools of Higher Education,
but in every school cafeteria in the U.S.,
where little kids are still given sanction to
stuff their bodies with life depleting calories that make them fat
and fidget.

MEET ANTHONY RUSSO

I met Anthony Russo at EarthDay San Diego State University
two years ago, the University is within walking distance
of the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community Growing Grounds
in San Diego.

Jerome Ringo, one of our Nation's most well known Beet Keepers,
was at SDSU the day that Deepwater was cracking life in the Gulf.
His message was prophetic. He spoke about the Green Day that was
coming. He spoke about Greening our sea ports of call.
He spoke in terms of billions and billions of dollars that
was not being committed to create a different kind of future
anchored in sustainable living.

He came to congratulate
the local SDSU e3's (The Business, Environment, and Ethics group)
and the Green Love Student Body Leaders.
Students at SDSU O.K.ed a LEED Platinum new student body center.
He came the week of the Cultivating Food Justice Conference, to be
held a few days after that rainy Earth Day morning April 22.

Hearing his words that afternoon on Earth Day itself,
was President Daniel Weber, Undergrad President
Chase, and a room filled with Green leaders of today
and tomorrow,
Jerome Ringo held up a poster
of the upcoming Food Justice conference, April 24-25.

He congratulated the University for
being a Flagship Sustainability University.

He said that SDSU would inspire other Universities
and students everywhere. He said he would
be telling others everywhere what he saw here.

He said he wanted to come
back to San Diego. He said he would help students
get a well rounded education to meet the uncertain demands
of annew kind of economy that would rise up from the collapse
of something dead and dying.

Jerome Ringo knew that the students
he was meeting that day would inherit a new world where
the beat of nature was heard loud and clear.

He was speaking to those destined to be identified
as The Beet Keepers.

KUDUS FOR CULTIVATING FOOD JUSTICE
CONFERENCE

In his talk that day, this man, one of the nation's leading
environmental advocates and the former president
of the National Wildlife Association,
told us that he declined an invitation from his friend
President Barack Obama to be
at the White House on Earth Day so that he could be
our Earth Day keynote speaker that day.


MICHELLE OBAMA WAS HERE FIRST

Jerome Ringo came to San Diego following in the footsteps
of Michelle Obama. Our First Lady chose the site of the
New Roots Organic Garden, within bicycle range of SDSU,
to give her message, in coordination
with the California Endowment, saying "Let's Move!"
The President's wife, said on tax day April 15,
that the nation's eyes were on what was happening here
at the New Root's Farm.

What was happening at the New Roots Farm?

Former Refugees, who could not ever speak the same language
were all speaking the common language of the Plant.
There were more than 90 plots of land growing food
where less than four years ago, dumped rubbish and gang activity
prevailed.

Jerome Ringo congratulated SDSU
for having the forethought to co-sponsor the two-day Cultivating
Food Justice Conference that was being sponsored
by a convergence of local sustainability groups.

He knew from his own experience, living through Katrina, that
people everywhere needed real food as well as safe
mechanical engineering.


STEP IN KEEP THE BEET
THE WORLD's FIRST TALKING BEET PLANT

At the time of those monumental historic events in the Spring
of 2010, right here in my home city,
I was already involved in serious Enchanted Garden campaigns
to promote not only a biodegradable future for our kids
and their parents, but a compostable one.

By that time, Anthony Russo was one
of my Beet Keeper Sponsors here on the
Plant Your Dream Blog, among the humanitarian
driven leaders, who share their abundance
to allow me the gift of writing to you daily.


LOOKING BACK

My owe wake up call for the need to have a personal health
awakening came during my college days.

I was the editor of the San Fernando Sun Newspaper
on the morning of an immense earthquake that opened my eyes
forever. From that day on, I began to think magically about
earth disasters. On a morning in February 1971,
while still a Journalism student at Cal State Northridge,
I stood in the middle
of the street with others in Pajama's and nightgowns.

I watched a city with no water.
I watched people come together to help each other.
I saw community form to meet the challenge.
Police, kids, teachers, government leaders--we were
all now in the same Lifeboat and had to work together.

I was personally shaken to my core.
What was the Force in Nature--what was the Soul
behind that earthquake? Had we all been living as
Natural Disasters waiting to happen before the
shake up? Was it inevitable that people learn to live
together in intentional community, that saw a different
kind of world?

Years later, as I became crippled--literally by my own
thinking--as well as the world I had inherited--
I was to learn that it was possible
to live in another kind of world.


THE ENCHANTED GARDEN
AND ITS BEET KEEPERS ARE BORN

I named that world the Enchanted Garden.
I saw the sacredness of seeds to plant dreams.
I was taken right out of the city into the country side
where where the
Hidden Valley Ranch and Spa now stands
in Escondido, California.

I tasted for the first time, mulberries on trees that
still stand. I learned about the power
in whole, pure, natural foods
to mend the brokeness in each of us.


ENCHANTED GARDEN INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY
GROWING GROUNDS

Fast forward 20 years, I now live on property within walking
distance of SDSU. It is called the Enchanted Garden Intentional
Community Growing Grounds.


A TRUST WILL FORM HERE

It is the site of a finishing school, where young leaders are
now stepping up to garden and teach us of previous generations
how to hear the call that we all are all here
to keep the beat with nature.
It is here where we are entering in a Trust
to carry on the work for future
generations.


WORKING WITH FARMERS

My own wake up call for the need to have a moment of awakening
on the earth came further in 2008.

I saw the plight of local organic farmers,
among them Joe Rodriguez jr. of J.R. Organics;
Phil Noble of Sage Mountain Farm;
and Barry Logan of La Milpa Organica Farm.

My dearest of friends,
these three farmers and numbers of others vendors
at the Hillcrest Farmers' Market in San Diego,
one of the most popular trend setting markets in our nation,
were suffering due to shocking water restrictions.
Every unit of food now counted more than ever.

We needed many more shoppers.
We needed more voices who understood the
Shift back to whole, pure, natural foods, and the inevitable
return of a Food Safety Moderization Act based on
the national mandate that says:
Know Your Food. Know Your Farmer.

IT WAS ALSO
A FEW YEARS AGO
THAT A BEET STARTED TALKING TO ME...


It was around that time--of
2008 that a number of other magical connections happened.

1- A simple beet began talking to me.
She told me that she just had to speak up. She was getting lonely
in the field. Kids knew more about Apples made of computer parts
than Apples growing on trees.

Teens knew more about Malls, consumerism, and eating junk foods
than they did about the thousands and thousands of diverse seeds,
a gift from Mother Earth herself, that were here on earth
to help us take our Dreams out of Boxes.

Teens, kids, and their parents had to be reminded--
through the simple act of planting beet seeds, roots,
and other plants, we could take our deeply needed dreams
now out of boxes.

That simple beet fore told the time
of Beet Keepers, Return!


As you plant your intentions with Seeds,
so will your Dreams grow. As you step up
and Keep The Beet, you too will regain your beat with
Nature.
