There is a story that goes with this photo.
I was on a desert retreat early in the spring.
I felt a sense of urgency for life. I saw the
Chain of Being broken through the way
we were treating our seeds and food.

I saw humanity at a crossroads.
I was looking for a metaphor to express
what I had been seeing and studying without
getting into too deep of an explanation with the group.

I saw this rock...the rock in the photo.
I was aware that in the geology of the desert,
many of these rocks were in movement and from time
to time feel.

I expressed my sense of urgency by saying that
what we did that very weekend as a group would
determine if that rock fell or when right up to heaven.

There was a tremendous sense of cooperative living
demonstrated by the group on that desert retreat.
The healing was profound that came from experiencing
the cooperative living.

I was the last to leave camp. The retreat had a Jewish theme,
but it was also Easter Sunday. After everyone left, I did some
rituals by myself. I did some rituals regarding the
broken Chain of Being. Then I left camp.

When I got home, I noticed that there were numbers
of things out of place in my room. They had fallen off the
shelves, but there was no serious damage. I asked my
housemate, if there had been an earthquake. There was one.
I never felt it. I had been in the midst of a weekend
that demonstrated extraordinary human cooperation.

There was a big earthquake that had happened,
I later read the newspapers and saw that the epicenter was
about 500 miles away. There was some damage but
not too many people died or were hurt.

I researched more. There was a story I found
about an earthquake that had been predicted for
Los Angeles. The epicenter was predicted for Los
Angeles.

In my mind, I felt that L.A. had been spared
but the acts of cooperative living in the desert.

Fast forward to June 10, 2010.

We are in the middle of a major catatrophe in the Gulf.

I sense that the Chain of Being has been broken
both on the land and at sea.

It is through Whole Being,
that we are given Grace,
through acts of cooperative living.

Most of us are living as earthquakes waiting to happen.
We are living as natural disasters.

Look at the human condition behind the Gulf.
You find a few people behaving in ways
the emanate an intense profit motive
that has resulted in cutting corners off the
chain of being--the wheel of health.
Do you get the picture?

I see hunanity perched now as that rock
in the desert.

The Rock is also a metaphor I see for
the Christ or Messianic Consciousness.

What is it that brings in Grace?
What is it that draws in a higher field
of wholeness to life.

I believe acts of cooperative living do this.

Love thy neigbhor as they self does this,

There is a creation brewing in me.

It is giving birth.

I see it needs more time to be born.
