SACRED GARDEN EXPERIENCE

Cleaning up today
from 12:08 PM-4:18 PM

About 4 1/2 hours of clearing.

Writing this Blog
4:18 PM-5:25 PM
January 28, 2010

This turned into one of my best days of the year.
It did not start that way.
I felt anxious before getting out of bed.
I knew I had reached my the edge of my Limits.
Scanning the future, I saw more to handle
that was possible.

I got out of bed. I wrote a letter to one of my
housemates, asking some specific questions
about his interest in renting an outdoor studio
space here, that is some beginning available.
I need to rent this space one way or another.
The monthly income depends on that rental.

The Dome--the studio space--needs repairs.

This was the next most important action I needed
to take. The next hours until 1:53 PM where about
handling details, blogging, and updating on
some of my current projects. I blogged about that
too.

Then I made of list of what I wanted to do
that was part of THE GREAT EARTH CLEAN UP.

I made a list of specific goals
step by step. I wanted to stay on purpose.

First I went down into the basement to
make some room. I got rid of two boxes
of cassette tapes. I rearranged some plastic
containers, and then made some space.

Next, I set a goal of clearing the top of
one of desks. That took some work.
I found a conscious space for most of what
was on there.

I discovered some important misplaced
items in the process, including a Audio cassette
tape eraser that I wanted very much to find.

A few years ago, we set out on what appeared
to be an impossible task, the clearing of our basement.
It was impacted with clutter and foul air.
The basement is underground and the walls seap
water during the rain. Water from the front of the house,
from auto watering, also seaped through the subterranean
front wall.

For years I thought of clearing this basement as
a Hurculean Task. It was forboding. The amount
of clutter was beyond words. It was enough
to make it onto the A & E series on Hoarding.

We designated parts of the garden into areas.
Most of my things went into Area E and D.
Area E was our healing Area. it was here where
we had a massage table. There were many lovely
magical experiences that happened for me,
and for others in that area. Then many of the shelves
from my area of the basement went out there,
and tons of notebooks.

Most of the rest of my things went into area D.
Area D, next to Area E, was a sweet outdoor meeting
area. It had a round table, and a lovely Olive tree,
and an outdoor area with a bed for summer naps.

The entire area was filled with my boxes--
two enormous eight foot tables were used for storing
and sorting. The area underneath both tables was filled.

I set up an outdoor boom box.

I started to work out there day after day beginning
in the summer of 08. Amazingly, as I went through
the boxes, and the beginnings of this day after day
experience of going through decades of materials,
the economy began to collapse. It was an interesting
juxtaposition of events.

I call both actions, my personal cleanup, and ordering
of decades of New Age Archives, pulled into the light,
and the nation being forces to come to its senses
part of the same process. I call both acts,
events in THE GREAT EARTH CLEAN UP.

I worked through the Fall.
Then, in September, after months in my own
clutter and organization, I got a call that my father
had a fire in his apartment. He lives in Los Angeles.
I went up there for a week.

I realized more than ever, how I was a chip off the old
block. My father is a bonefide hoarder and packrat.
there were literally mice under his bed, and roaches
so thick that this was a definite health hazard.
I wore eye goggles and a breathing mask.

My relationship with my father deteriorated
during that week. We ended up yelling at each other.
We had to call in a a professional company to help
with dumping things. I and my niece were overseeing
their action mainly.

My father, who had resisted the process, could no longer.
He was wimpering. "It has to be done," he would say over and over.
He was facing eviction.

I threw out a lot of his things. introspect, I wish I had saved
a few more. He had every letter I had ever sent him since
the year 1965. I would find them in different piles. There
was no order anywhere. Sacred objects and toilet paper
and medicines were all intertwined. It was a horrific experience.
Most of my letters went into the trash, and lots of family
memorabilia.

I had no idea I would be getting so deep into this
when I started this blog.

In September of 2008, we were starting to talk about
the election, and the banking crisis.

The Foundation of our house was cleared out.
My stuff was all outside, and one of my other housemate
had much of her stuff--more than my own--in Areas
called B and C under blue tarps.

By the time of the Jewish High Holidays that September,
I came up for air. Most of my things stayed outside
in Area E and D.

By the time of the Pacific Symposium 08, I was no longer
working outside. I was back paying attention to
conferences.

I remember bringing home one guest. She looked at
area D and E and said she found it healing. It gave her
a feeling that she was not alone in her one clutter.

It is amazing how deep clutter goes and hoarding tendencies.

She gave me 25 cents toward, when I announced it was
our clutter museum.

Through that late fall of 08, and into the winter of
09, the cleanup of the basement
fell on the shoulders of one my dedicated housemates,
who was trading for office space down in the basement.

All the stuff outside was hard on numbers of my housemates.
Day after day, one would have to pass by Area D.

It did not seem there was any resolution with Area B and C.

In Spring of 09, and through the summer, I bought
shelves from the family of Dr. BERNARD JENSEN, six of them.

Between Summer of 08 and the end of Summer of 09, I threw
out masses of papers and collections of things.

A few weeks ago, Area E was finally cleared.
Some of what was there went into Area D.
For the most part, was was on Area D, the things
on saved went on the six Dr. Jensen shelves.

Today, was the first time, I took a microfiber
and used it to clear the the table in Area D.
The other table in Area D was disassembled sometime
in the summer of 09, as well as the bed.

Most everything of mine went into plastic containers
and in for the most part neatly stored on painted
shelves in back of the six jensen shelves.

I must have gone through at let go of about 50 % of all the things
I had down there.

Yesterday, one of my other housemates and I went to Sears
and bought a Shop Vac for the basement.

Today, as I finally cleared the remaining eight foot table
and the the round table in Area D, I had the first Sacred
feeling I have had in that area since before the summer of
08.

I used a pickup took that allowed me to pick up little things
from the ground.

In one corner of Area D, there are still three or four
large black plastic containers, but I feel I can get through them.

As I used the microfibres, I began to imagine the future
of the house, and new energies that will sit with me and enjoy
that healing area.

After Pacific Symposium 09, I came home with many new
opportunities, including one to create a Healing Garden for
a major hospital.

I realized that before I could open up to the receiving involved
with that, I had to begin to clear room in my own office
and bedroom.

I began to imagine that there would be new life and love
coming into my life as I prepare my nest.

So far, I have cleared a good 50% of my closet, and created
a whole area to the right of my bed where there is an area where
a woman can put her things. I moved the bed farther from the door.
For the first time I can open it.

There is still a lot more work to do in my room and office,
and in the basement, but today was an important day
when I experienced that Area E is now open again, and 2/3 rds
to 4/5th of area D.

It is good now to take time to contemplate how far I have come
and how far we have come with the basement.

There is much, much more to do to reclaim Area B and C
still covered with an enormous Blue Tarp,
but I simple am stopping to blog.

It was a profound healing experience that I had today.
