The New Medicine paradigm and some of the evolution that has taken place in science since the 80s.

Reading "Molecules of Emotions" by Candace Pert, PhD who was featured on "What The Bleep ...". She talks about her journey of discovery through science to a greater realization of how the human organism functions. she says:

"...we might refer to the whole system as a psychosomatic information network, linking psyche, which comprises all that is ostensibly nonmaterial nature, such as mind, emotion, and soul to soma, which is the material world of molecules, cells and organs. ..."

She infers a new paradigm when she says: "This view of the organism as an information network departs from the old Newtonian, mechanistic view. In the old paradigm, we saw the body in terms of energy and matter. Hardwired reflexes, ... with little room for flexibility, change or intelligence. With information added to the process, we see that there is an intelligence running things. ... chiropractors refer to it as the body's 'innate intelligence'. But classically, there is no such thing as an intelligent organism, and to say so is heresy to the old guard ..."

I have been personally appreciating the benefits of the chiropractic view since the mid 60's. Now a certain chiropractor, whom I have had the very good fortune to be introduced to, is offering presentations on a new medical paradigm that more than underscores the body's 'innate intelligence' to the extent that it blows whatever may still remain of "the old paradigm" completely into the dust bin! I am talking about something called German New Medicine (GNM):

This book continues to be a great read and I'm looking forward to finishing it to make way for: The "Summary of the New Medicine" that is coming on loan to me from Dr. Chris even though it is currently out of print! Reading that will be my priority once it arrives!
