Created using the same pattern as the drawing above, individually hand-crafted blossoms of tissue paper and unbleached natural waxed paper on re-used carboard covered with tissue paper. Elmer's glue diluted to adhere tissue paper to waxed paper; undiluted to adhere "blossoms" to cardboard.
Kids might like to try this--take unbleached natural waxed paper (I used "Natural Value" brand) and cut into shapes. Dilute Elmer's glue with water so it can be "painted" on with a small brush. Adhere tissue paper to waxed paper with the diluted glue; when it dries, the waxed paper/tissue paper creation is stiff and can be readily bent into shapes, then glued on to a cardboard backing to create a "3D" effect.
