Serious U.S.A Economic Woes+ Robert Ebert Review of I.O.U.S.A. by YourEnchantedGardener .....

This is must viewing--I.O.U.S.A. See the free online version now. You will begin to understand a bit of the problems the U.S.A. is facing financially...problems, long range, problems way beyond the Bailout of 2008. "I don't really believe this review will inspire enormous numbers of people to go see the film. But if they do, they'll find it accomplishes an amazing thing. It explains the national debt, the foreign trade deficit, the decrease in personal savings, how the prime interest rate works, and the weakness of our leaders." --Robert Ebert

I just watched this documentary.

The documentary is about the end result of the way most of us are living now.
We are living beyond our means. We are spending more than we are earning.

We are not saving for a rainy day.

This documentary begins a necessary dialogue.
I cannot say I fully understand how we got in this situation,
but the 30-minute version of the documentary I.O.U.S.A.
will help both of us understand. I know I need to see I.O.U.S.A.
a number of times.

This documentary begs the question:
How do we get out of the mess we are in?
Learning to grow a bit
of our own food now is one solution,
as well as beginning to bank on seeds and plants
to grow a healthy future. Another solution is making sure
we are supporting local organic farmers,
even when we imagine we are getting a better deal
by buying overseas imports that our organic.
Overseas imports makes it more difficult for our local
organic farmers to survive. It also sends our money overseas.
China already owns us. Our land is owned by banks.
Banks are not exactly the most sustainable industry right now
in this age of the Great Earth Clean Up.

The Great Earth Clean Up?
We are all being asked now to clean up our act.
This includes becoming sustainable.
This includes decluttering.
This includes getting grounded.

Growing food?
Start with a beet.
Get one from a local organic farmer.
introduce yourself. No local organic farmer?
Become one, become a gardener.

Who is KEEP the BEET Media Star,
The World's First Talking Beet Plant?
She is a cartoon character that represents
the the Wisdom you will start to have when you
spend a bit of your time making a direct connection
with something you can succeed in growing.
Talk to your beet. She will talk to you.

We are out of step with Nature.
We are out of step with our Soul.
Keep the beet. Eat the beet greens.
We have to start someplace.

THE OPENING OF THE REVIEW
By Roger Ebert

A letter to our grandchildren, Raven, Emil and Taylor: I see you growing up into such beautiful people, and I wish all good things to you as you make the leap into adulthood. But I have just seen a documentary titled "I.O.U.S.A." that snapped into sharp focus why your lives may not be as pleasant as ours have been. Chaz and I had the blessing of growing up in an optimistic, bountiful America. We never fully realized that we were paying for many of our comforts with your money.
