SAN DIEGO
LOCAL ORGANIC + BIODYNAMIC FARMERS
and HEROES

How many faces can you identify????

At a visit to the Hillcrest Farmers' Market
in January, I had five kids matching the
photos with farmers they met.

They would crayon a line aorund he face.
It was a fun kid activity.

UPPER LEFT CORNER:

Peter Dukich, in the upper left corner
at his 92nd birthday at the
Enchanted Garden Intentional Community.
He is no longer in a body. His Legacy
is the many lives he touched, and his
Peter's Powder, a biodynamic plant
booster. We have some bottled here,
if you are interested email me.
Plantyourdream@cox.net.

Next to Peter,
Dennis Stowell.
Dennis is more interested in growing
nutrition per acre than profit per acre.
Most of his foods this days are going
out of state.

in the recent fires, Dennis helped his
neighbors rebuild. He is a landscape
architect as well.

Below Peter and Dennis:

Phil Noble and Juany Noble,
of Sage Mountain Farm.

There local organic foods
are grown in very precious well water.
They have a successful CSA and
sell at numbers of Farmers' Markets.

Below Phil and Juany,

Larry Nadeau,
Bud Wood Farm.

Larry's food has been at numbers
of my favorite Farmers' Markets.
His farm was destroyed in the Fall
San Diego Fire.

Below Larry,
is Steve L. White.

An Enchanted Garden Sponsor
for many years, Steve is a regular
at the HIllcrest Farmers" Market
and many others. He grows
the Ugly Orange that changed
the American Palate.

Steve delivers foods to some
of his customers.

If you want to know more about
Red Tape and Farming, Steve will
give you an ear full.

He is the father of four kids and
teaches at their schools.

Steve also does Edible Landscapes.

Next to Steve,

Is Noel Stehly,
a third generation San Diego organic farmer,
Noel's oranges and avocadoes are
sold in Whole Foods Market locally
and shipped around the country.
Noel's oranges were a gift to the
kids of Tecate at the World Environment Day
exhibit, we did. His oranges were also
featured at Pacific Symposium 08.
The flavor speaks for itself, local organic
is in!

Due to drought, the Stehly's cut down
many avocado trees. His farm survived
the recent fires. He and brother were
on the front lines fighting the fire.

Right of Noel Stehly is
Bill Tall, of City Farmers Nursery.
Bill is a delight. He will answer most
organic gardening questions a person wants to know.

His plants were featured at the Pacific Symposium 07.
He is an Enchanted Garden Sponsor.

We will do other activities together in 08 at the nursery.

Next right is
Barry Koral.

Barry could be a poster man for Vegan eating.
He eats all raw. I first met Barry at Dr. Bernard Jensen's
Hidden Valley Health Ranch in the early 70's.
His does a number of Farmers' Markets
including the HIllcrest Farmers' Market.
His forte is local organic fruit trees.
Barry is an artist, and his food is artistry.
We will do other projects together in 08.

Kids:

That is Elyissa Rodriguez,
one of the daughters of Joe Rodriguez Jr.
The little boy with the lettuce is
Nathaniel Rodriguez. He loves to farm
with with grandpa who he called dad.

Above the kids is
