4:08 PM
December 19, 07

Just got a Holiday Wish List from
John Vasconcellos, one of my deepest loves
in the political area and out.

John is a Mensch, a true stateman.

He once ran for Governor.

I have had a lot of defeated feelings about politics.

When John was in his last years as a State Senator
from the SIlicon Valley, he invited me up for a week
to Sacramento.

Can you imagine turning Your EG lose on Sacramento!

I had a ball.

One eve John and I were in streetclothes.

He got the idea to stop in at a Big Shindig the Governor
was putting on.

John was a Favorite of all the ladies at the ball!

He was concerned that they might be sensitive to my taking photos....
They put him in his place!

One lady senator was insulted that I didn't know her!

They were all very human and delightful.

The Governor was so taken a with the love and support he felt from me,
that he asked if if I would like to be the Historian.

I said no, I told him I wanted to be his Enchanted Gardener.

The Mrs, Mrs. Governor, was a deight. She had written
a Kid book about the Capital Cat. She did lots of work to help Kids
read.

You can google John Vasconcellos on the Plant Your Dream Blog for more on that
story!

Here is a request from Enchanted Garden Club Member John Vasconcellos:

My Dear Colleague in Advancing the Politics of Trust -

I need your generous help by year's end to keep our Vasconcellos Legacy Project alive, and to gain momentum in our mainstreaming The Politics of Trust.
I've grown so sure of our need for and the promise of our endeavor - that by December 31 I'm investing another $10K (totaling $50K)- in our 501(c)(3) non-partisan educational non-profit.

May I count on you to join me now according to your capacity and commitment?
Your investment moves us forward with our two Dynamic Demonstration Projects and liberates me from endless fundraising, so I can devote all my public time and talents to advancing The Politics of Trust.

Our need is great. Our people are hungry and ready. We owe it to them all to grow bold together and really make a difference - beginning right now.

The Politics of Trust - grounded in our more faithful vision of our selves, our human nature and potential - is a truly new politics of healing and hope - both profound and pragmatic, uplifting and inspiring, altogether our most promising pathway to a finer future for our grand/children.

I look forward to hearing from you immediately to become our partner!

Then let us enjoy these coming holidays with our families, and make '08 the finest year of our lives - to date!

California State Senator (Retired)
