Dr. Ralf Cord-Ruwisch of Murdoch University
visits the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community
on Friday, the afternoon following BIO, the Biotechnology Industry Organization
International meetingheld at the San Diego Convention Center June 17-18-19-20.
Dr Cord-Ruwisch is looking at a tree that is native to his homeland of Western Australia.
Dr. Cord-Ruwisch was drawn to Western Australia to study
with Bill Mollison, the creator of Permaculture.
Permaculture is one of the schools at Murdoch University.

We live on a very hot street. There is a lot of cement. In Summer the temperature can make a
person really sweat. We have a very large Rose Apple Tree in our front yard. A Rose Apple
Tree has big limbs. It is a Tropical Tree. I love our Rose Apple Tree Very much. It is a great
conversation piece. No one around here has ever seen a Rose Apple Tree.
During June, our Rose Apple Tree has delightful flowers, then the flowers
turn into the fruit. By September, we have an enormous crop of the most delightful Rose Apples.

was the scene last night for an incredible happening on closing night festivities for
BIO 2008, the Biotechnology Industry Organizations global meetup, June 17-18-19-20
at the San Diego Conventon Center.
Pacific Event Productions worked all day on creating a unique street scene that

down at the Gaslamp Quarter tonight. The Gaslamp Quarter
is an incredible development project here in San Diego.

The Farm Bill has passed into its final version.
Dear Farm Bill Forum Members,
We have received word that that HR 6124, the final version of the Conference Report on the Farm Bill containing all fifteen titles, was successfully passed yesterday over the veto of the President. The Senate voted 80 to 14 to override.
All fifteen titles are now federal law.
Your work has made the difference in getting the organic sections of this bill. Congratulations to you all.
