Zostavax SPREADS CHICKEN POX!
by befurther 13 y
”The shingles vaccine, Zostavax, contains a weakened chickenpox virus (varicella-zoster virus). The shingles vaccine helps stimulate your immune system to battle disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus, reducing the risk of getting shingles in people aged 60 and older. In scientific studies, the shingles vaccine reduces the risk of developing shingles by about 50%.
Findings show that the shingles vaccine also helps people who go on to develop shingles have shorter periods of nerve pain called postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), which is extremely painful and can last anywhere from 30 day ...

Senior shingles patients unlikely to have recurrence of p...
by marieflores 8 y
It is unlikely to have a recurrence of shingles – a skin condition – in senior patients, according to researchers at Kaiser Permanente Southern California. The researchers found that seniors who have already experienced the painful skin condition have a low risk of developing it again.
The findings also suggest that there is no urgency for these seniors to get vaccinated as a means to prevent a second shingles case.
The researchers reviewed health records and monitored shingles recurrence among 6,000 seniors. During an average two-year follow-up, there were less ...

What is Shingles?
Shingles (herpes zoster) are an outbreak of rash or blisters on the skin
that is caused by the same virus that causes chicken pox -
the varicella-zoster virus.
The first sign of shingles is often burning or tingling pain,
or sometimes numbness, in or under the skin.
You may also feel ill with fever, chills, headache, or upset stomach.
After several days, a rash of small fluid-filled blisters,
reminiscent of chickenpox, appears on reddened skin.
The pain associated with shingles can be intense
and is often described as ”unrelenting.”

For the past several years, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been actively promoting the shingles vaccine as the solution to what some experts say is a building shingles epidemic. But a new study published in the German medical journal Der Hautarzt, or "The Dermatologist" in English, has revealed that the childhood vaccine for chicken pox, a common viral disease related to shingles, may actually be directly responsible for triggering this epidemic.
Also known clinically as varicella-zoster virus (VZV), chicken pox is a relatively mild form ...

At the time I did alot of reading on shingles and was encouraged to read in one article that overcoming shingles is in many cases the body’s second and final successful attempt at suppressing the herpes virus. I have found this to be true as have had no HPV flares of any kind since the shingles outbreak and prior to the shingles also had suffered with recurrent coldsores.

Shingles vaccine proposed for all those in their 70s

The minutes of its meeting stated that the Herpes zoster [shingles] vaccination should be introduced to people aged between 70 and 79. ‘This age group was proposed as the duration of protection, based on current data, is estimated to be 7.5 years and infection is more severe and the burden of illness is greater in this age group,’ it was stated.
However, the committee stopped short of recommending childhood vaccination for chickenpox, the virus that leads to the development of shingles.
It said that mass immunisation of children would reduce their immunity against the virus and lead to ...

Hello - Shingles are actually a virus. It’s the same virus (herpes zoster) that causes chickenpox - it just lies dormant in the body - until it rears its ugly head as shingles in some people. Older folks have weaker immune systems and are more prone to cases of shingles.
This virus is not the same thing as the genitial herpes virus BUT it is contageous until the sores scab over - a person can become infected from direct contact with the fresh rash. If a person has had chickenpox they can be infected and have the shingles too. If a person has never had chickenpox and gets infected by ...

Actually, shingles is caused by the member of the herpes family called herpes zoster. It has no connection to the Herpes Papilloma Virus, HPV.
I agree with the advice to get an active outbreak swabbed for, preferably an PCR analysis or perhaps a culture to determine if it’s shingles or herpes simplex.
The most effective treatment for either is to use one of the available antivirals, acyclovir, valtrex or famvir. They’re all very safe and have dosages for both shingles and HSV.

For shingles and viruses in general I use H. Clark’s Lysine & Glutanic acid tea - both stop the virus from replicating. Also echinacea, zinc and high doses of Vit. C and Clark’s Zapper. Dr. Richard Schultze also has similar remedies for shingles.
One reason for shingles outbreaks is a lowered immunity and eating aflatoxin, a mold toxin, in foods. Vit C inactivates the mold toxins.
Since a LF may lower your immunity I would clear up the shingles first.

Vitamin C is so effective at halting herpes viruses that on initial diagnosis of shingles or outbreak of cold sores patients should immediately start taking it. Most of the published research behind vitamin C and herpes involves intravenous treatment and dates back as early as 1950. Prevention
You cannot do much to avoid shingles. It is not caught from contact with someone with shingles or with chickenpox.
If you have shingles you should stay away from other people until the blisters have dried (usually about seven days), as there are virus particles in the blister fluid. The risk is that people who have not had chickenpox might catch that from you.
Those at particular risk are people whose immune system is not functioning normally (who are immunocompromised), as for example in people on steroids, chemotherapy for cancer or those with transplants or with AIDS ...

From what I understand Shingles are caused by the same virus that causes Chicken Pox. It can remain dormant in the body for a lifetime, or come back as Shingles in adults. Stress, a general run-down condition, or underactive immune system can trigger the attacks. I doubt if the Master Cleanse would ”cause” the Shingles to erupt, but if you had a lot of toxins to process (although you sound pretty ”clean” to me)that could have put enough strain on the immune system to cause this outbreak of Shingles. Unless new progress has been made recently, the virus will once again become dormant, but c ...

I had shingles awhile back. It usually is only on one side of the body and runs along a nerve. It’s very very painful. I felt numbness in the area (right rib cage) before the rash manifested.
I got the pharmaceutical within 72 hours because shingles can turn into long term post-neuralgic pain that lasts forever. There are very few pharmaceuticals I’d ever take but this was one of them. I totally hedged my bets on this.
