Re:Barto   by Barto   11y
Hi Dot Thanks for your input. I definitely do not have diverticulitis, but I do have IBS and I guess that I also have diverticulosis as do most people (I understand). While wondering how we get rid of our diverticulosis I heard a talk about MSM and they said MSM can help to reduce diverticulosis as it helps return elasticity to cells in our body. I wondered if anyone had any other/further info about this.   4,286 hits

Hi #89250, You said: ”My aunt has diverticulitis and diverticulosis (don’t ask me the difference)” As I understand, diverticulosis is a condition where you have been diagnosed to have formed pockets in the colon. Diverticulitis is when one or more of those pockets have become infected and inflamed. For example, if the appendix becomes inflamed we call that appendicitis. warmly, gg   1,509 hits

Re: Can this pain be caused by gallbladder?   by telman   6y
Your may want to investigate diverticulitis which often presents as low abdominal grinding crampy pain. You can type diverticulitis into a search engine and start reading. Diverticulitis occurs when small pouches bulge out from weak points in the intestines, forming ’diverticula’, which then become infected or inflamed. It is sometime described as being similar to a balloon of air bulging out of a bicycle tire. The pouches alone, without any infection or inflammation are quite common, and if you have just the pouches then you suffer from diverticulosis. If you have the pouches plu ...   1,612 hits

I know what you mean about just wanting to be healthy. You have my sympathy. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c5/Digestive_system_diagram_en.svg I sometimes get pains along the descending colon, too. Most frequently near the sigmoid (towards the bottom, where the colon enters the rectum), though often where the transverse turns into the descending. One problem folks can get with their colons is diverticulosis, in which pockets form off the colon. Check the symptoms: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Diverticulosis   3,864 hits

Re: HIVES NEED ADVICE!   by Tim   12y
I was having a dull, ongoing pain for about two weeks in my lower left abdominal area. At first I thought I had stretched a muscle but when the pain led to a low grade faver and weakness, I thought I’d go to the doctor to have it checked. He immediately diagnosed it as diverticulosis. He told me to drink plenty of water and take metamucil once a day. For peace of mind, he had me scheduled for a complete blood test to rule out other causes and a lower GI (barium enema). Through the process they took many pictures of my colon. They discovered just as the doctor said, diverticulosis. I ...   5,386 hits

YOU DO NOT HAVE ruptured appendix...thats lower RIGHT side of abdomen. You probably have Diverticulosis (Diverticular disease), or some type of hernia. The presence of diverticula - signalled in some people by occasional cramps and tenderness in lower left abdomen, relieved by passing wind or stools, bouts of Diarrhea and Constipation, and occasional bleeding are symtoms of Diverticulosis. If you end up with intense Abdominal pain, Fever, and Nausea, there is a risk of abscess formation and Peritonitis. Enemas for the prevention of Diverticulitis   by howie   5y
I experienced my first diverticulitis attack at the age of 60 years. This was treated by a course of antibiotics and after this a diagnosis of diverticulosis was confirmed by Barium enema. At the young age of 7 I was diagnosed with IBS. Since the age of 45 I have been able to lessen my symptoms of IBS by cutting out all wheat-based products in my diet. I believe that the increase in the pressure within the bowel caused by the spasticity of IBS contributes to the devopment of the diverticulae in the bowel wall. What you describe sounds like it could be diverticulitis which is what diverticulosis can progress to; however, only a CT scan would provide definitive proof if the condition had actually progressed to diverticulitis (not that I am recommending the radiation, mind you).  Though there usually is no substitute for a professional diagnosis, I have often thought that the diagnosis of "diverticulosis/diverticulitis" sometimes is one that doctors use instead of saying "I can’t figure out what you have for sure".  The same symptoms you describe could a ...   1,032 hits

colon resection surgery for recurrent diverticulitis   by jimrbell   10y   View Entire Thread 3
I’ve been diagnosed with diverticulosis some years ago but after the first major infection had few problems until recently. In the last 5 months I’ve had 6-7 bouts of diverticulitis (infections of the diverticuli) and the subject of surgery is now being discussed. I’m looking into natural alternatives besides eating more fiber and taking Metamucil daily which helps with the stools but hasn’t changed the recurrent infections. I’d like to hear feedback on topics that might include: * those who’ve had the surgery, details, recovery, etc. * those who have seen major improvement with natura ...   954 hits

Re: Need a diagnosis, or a pointer   by hanna   9y
My suggestion is to go to the Ask Andreas Moritz forum, he will be open after he finishes answering the questions. He will be open for a short time because people are waiting with their questions. He also does paid telephone consultations check his website to learn about him, read his articles there and also check under Healthinfo. http://www.ener-chi.com I just found a good bowelcleanse for diverticulosis from someone who has this problem I thought may be it might be helpful for your problem too (I don’t know much about bowelproblems). http://www.curezone.com/forums/m.asp?f=329&i= ...   660 hits     1 of 1 (100%)

Medical diagnostics   by bevhmcd   9y   View Entire Thread 9
Can someone advise me on what is the least invasive diagnostic testing for someone who has pain in his lower abdomen accompanied by digestive problems including constipation, a tendency toward abdominal herniation, and fatique. This person is doing liver flushes, juicing, parasite cleansing, and bowel cleasing but the pain is intensifying and he is a little concerned. We can imagine a full spectrum of possible problems ranging from diverticulosis to tumors. Or possibly something in between and not so serious. Can anyone tell me if his problem might be able to be diagnosed by urine ...   815 hits

New to Master Cleanse   by heatherp8   10y   View Entire Thread 5
I’m on DAY FOUR of the Master Cleanse. There was hardly any ”activity” yesterday and I’m wondering if this is normal. I used the herbal laxative tea in the a.m. and p.m. Also wondering at what point one begins to pass the garbage - as shown in the oh-so-graphic images on this site. I’m on this cleanse to alleviate/eliminate the symptoms of diverticulosis, with which I’ve just been diagnosed. Any suggestions, tips or hints would be GREATLY appreciated!!   690 hits

Re: thanks for the tips   by skrumptious   9y
hi thanks both of you who sent ideas of what it might be. i did have a person tell me he thought my spleen might be congested. i’ll have to read up on that some. i was drinking raspberry leaf tea for awhile and nettles. but that trickled off. but it keeps coming back, especially when i’m fasting, and cleansing. so bizarre, i’m very curious what’s going on in there. i think i have pretty good bowel health, so i wouldn’t think i have diverticulosis, although i’m committing to a good month long diet of ease for this body, along with colonics and enemas, and organ massage. goodness. this is ...   4,838 hits

Re: bros bad breath cured!!!!   by crm   8y
I agree I had a similar problem that turned out to be diverticulosis which turned into diverticulitis.. it landed me in the hospital for a week with the infection. Most of my bad breath was taken care of with that and the rest that seemed to be caused by gingivitis was cleaned up by using a natural toothpaste after finding out I had the stomach issue it was important that other things I used for bad breath didnt damage the ”good” bacteria in my mouth that helps with digestion. Cuprident was the only thing that I found that could do this. I have been using it for approximately 2 years.   1,388 hits

Dr. Atkins Diet and Diverticulosis   by Gennylou   11y   View Entire Thread 4
I have been diagnosed with diverticulosis, having it fairly under control, but occasionally have bouts of pain and irritable bowel problems. I know grains and breads (whole grains) are a good source of fiber, which the dr. years ago said to adhere to. I have tried with success the Dr. Atkins Diet, just needing to lose a little weight, especially in abdomen, and am currently on the diet. I immediately feel the difference in the way my clothes fit in stomach area, and would like to lose 15 to 20 pounds. However, have been on it now 3 days, and am having a bout with my irritable bowel. I had my grand daughter stay over last night so I had to make her dinner and snacks. I bought her some good mac and cheese and then made her a veggie plate with dip and fruit for dessert. It was so hard not to lick my fingers when I got some Mac and cheese on them, lol it isn’t even something I eat at the best of times. I am fine when I drink my juice and water though. Not sure how long I will go but I would love to go 30 or 40 days. I feel very good inside, clear and light. Have lost some weight for sure cause my clothes are getting too big on me. Re: Your guess is right   by Russell   12y
Thank you for your response. I will give it another try in a couple of weeks. I must admit I was encouraged by what I saw. An interesting footnote, I was diagnosed about a month ago with diverticulosis. I was shocked because I thought I was getting enough fiber in my diet. At any rate, I really started watching my diet and went on a colon cleanse. That is when I decided to do the gall bladder cleanse because, after seeing the web site, I realized I was having the same problems. I thought they may be connected as to why I was constipated. An unusual footnote, since I have taken my ...   804 hits

I know what you mean. My significant other looks at me like I’m crazy. ”Why don’t you go to the doctor and let them give you something.” I went to the doctor for diverticulosis but I decided I would attack this one myself. Therefore, 2 flushes out of the way, I have past about 500 stones and I’m feeling better. In some ways I am alone because I feel like I am going to be judged because of taking the mixture. So, I do it in private. Good luck with the process. It really tastes bad but as the others said, you are doing something for YOU.   751 hits

Re: Blood in stool   by Jonsher_uk   6y
Hi Suz. I’ve never heard of MMS causing any intestinal or rectal bleeding. Have you have any change in bowel movement at all with MMS, no D at all? MMS actually stopped my intestinal bleeding but did this more so when it initially caused more D and I like Amato used 15drops once a day but lime activated and with pinapple juice. The only way to get a diagnosis is to consult a doctor who should do an examination such as a sigmoidoscopy to be sure but the most likely is haemorroids or maybe diverticulosis or some injury to the rectum. Pysillium, if the husks only, wouldn’t cause this ...   4,873 hits

Re: Everyone Please Read!   by Hollith   6y
I’m from European descent and don’t think my body was made to live on meats. A lot of us who live on meats end up with cancer. It’s horrible for your colon and kidneys. My grandmother ate too much meat and has diverticulosis right now. And clogged arteries. She eats like no veg or fruit. Ugh. I did the protein only diet for a couple of weeks. I ended up in the ER sick as a dog. I was in ketosis. There is debate over whether ketosis is harmful or not, but I was really sick from it. No way, never again, thankyouverymuch.   4,149 hits

Re:jeanette   by Dot   11y
There is a difference between diverticulitis or diverticulosis. You can read about this at”webmd.com”in easy to understand language. They say I have diverticulitis,I’ll get colonostopy soon, and then they’ll deciede if their going to remove part of my colon.I’m praying they won’t.I was in about my second bottle of Dr.Clarks parasite cleanse when I had the last attack that sent me to the ER,but I don’t feel that had anything to do with it.I’d been eating whole nuts for a few days.A no no for most pp.I will do it again in a few months after the hospital makes up it’s mind what they are going ...   1,720 hits

HELP Swollen lips   by Tim   12y   View Entire Thread 2
I have done a parasite cleanse, bowel cleanse and will be on my 3rd gall bladder flush. Two months ago I was diagnosed with diverticulosis. The doctor said it was minor and said the usual, drink more water and eat more fiber. However, since then, I found this web site and have gone through the cleanses. Since doing the gall baldder cleanse (Dr. Clark’s method) I have been experiencing bouts of sneezing and a swollen lip that lasts for about 3 hours about every 4 or 5 days and always occurs about 8AM. The swollen lip almost feels like a cold sore coming on but subsides. Does anyone have ...   2,432 hits

Re: left side abdominal ache/soreness   by joel   10y
Daniel, I had a similar experience recently. I went to a urologist in February, had a manual exam, and the next day got a pain on my lower left side in a small spot about 5” to the left of my navel. I felt like I might have a hernia. The pain came and went, not overwhelming just sore in a small spot. A few weeks later I got a fever and constipation for 4 days (first time in my life really). I now hurt over a larger area of my left side and haven’t really had regular bowel movements for a month. The Gastrointerologist says probably diverticulosis but I wonder since I eat a lot of ...   3,397 hits

Re: Brother with stricture   by wa4md   9y
Dear Rosnor, I know you are concerned about your brother, probably more than he is about himself. My Dad was an alcoholic and his health was the last thing on his mind. He wound up paralyzed after walking out in front of a truck while intoxicated. He lived 11 years in a nursing home and died at age 73. It sounds like your brother may need further tests to reveal whats causing this stricture. Its always best to seek a second opinion before major surgery of any kind, if time permits. Losing a lot of weight can be a sign of a very serious condition, possibly cancer. I have lived wit ...   1,335 hits
