Hi imaxfli,
Your question: I noticed the many Multi-vitamins for men come ”Iron free” hinting that men may be getting too much Iron. Black Strap Mollasses is ”rich in Iron”, if a guy does some BSM everyday can we be confident that it is not giving us too much Iron???

i just tried black strap molasses enema and it was explosive.
as far as good or bad flora in the intestine, i use a probiotic and with this black strap molasses feeding it i hope it works.

Try Black Strap Molasses for constipation. Wants your back in the flow, let the community know how BSM worked for you.
Also, an apple a day - green smoothies - small amount of beans - whole grains (quoina, buckwheat, etc...) - high water content food (raw fruits & raw Vegetables) - 1/2 of body weight in water.
The Standard American Diet is to dry, so even if we consume high fiber foods are systems are to dry to move it along.

One more embarassing tidbit of info. Today I expelled what looked like a footlong, thinner than a pencil rope of mucus! I suppose if I was taking P&B shakes it would look longer and thicker?
There are two things I have done different for those of you curious ones. First I upped the cayenne. I even took it in plain water, like a shot glass with a teaspoon of cayenne, followed by some more water. I also had black strap molasses in hot water.I hope I have not broken any MC laws! I did this because of this article I read. It has to do with people who over-eat and store the sugar in the blood ...

Molasses comes from sugar cane and has sugar in it. That would be a source of tooth decay.
Not black strap molasses beside no one suggested swishing with it! I can see a lot of people realy dont understand how the black strap mollasses and the acv drink works! Something as critical as the job bsm does in helping absorb minerals and helping build strong bones and teeth should know what they are talking about before they denounce it!

Hi! Wanted to ask you about the comment on the black strap molasses--I remember reading that diabetics could start out with it, then he has them gradually ease into using the maple syrup.
But you made it sound like it was basically interchangeable? I have a big jar of black strap at home, and I am running out of maple--would love to not have to buy the maple and just use the black strap, can I?

Its best to predilute 2tps of BSM to your green drinks, lemon and olive oil for ahsorption!

I made the same mistake the first time. Unsulfured Blackstrap Molasses is preferable to fancy or regular molasses.It has less sugar and is more concentrated in minerals. If it does not say ”BlackStrap” there is a good chance that it is not it.

Just rec’d another fabulous order from you. Jody is so quick and efficient!! I read some where on the forum that you stopped carrying the black strap molasses and bought yours some where in Ohio?? Not sure if I’m remembering this correctly and don’t have time right now to search. I am wanting to raise my iron and wanted to give this a try. I bought 1000 mg. of the sublingual and took it this morning with the b-complex, selenium, magnesium malate. 1/2 hr later did my salt push with 1/4 teas. of salt, then I drank a tab. of black strap molasses. I bought some watermellon as my back is hurting today, indicating kidneys.
I like to take black strap molasses for anemia because I think it is better to get iron from food than to take it.

Well first thing is I suggest you thoroughly read Stanley Borroughs book ”The Master Cleanser” before starting this diet. Now! if you’ve already read the book then it tells you the substitues..for diabetics the substitute would be Black Strap Molasses and the original formula called for pure cane juice. the main electrolytes are calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium. most people get plenty of sodium, but most lack potassium which is why i recommend it. water soluble cal and mag are hard to find thats why i recommend black strap molasses which is high in all the minerals.
sugar is another thing you lose while sweating, thus adding some potassium and a mineral rich sweetener to your water (like molasses or sorghum syrup or maple syrup) would help out a lot.

I am a Canadian living in Brazil...and i too had a difficult time finding black strap molasses...from research you are correct...spanish and portuguese is a very similiar language and in portuguese it’s called ”Molado de Cana”
it is not as dark as the molasses i get in canada nor as thick but you do have the right stuff...
try to find some that does not have any preservatives...
best of luck...i am on my 9th day of fasting..it is worth it...

I tried one of these this morning, delicious :
2 slices bread
1 tablespoon hazelnut butter
1 tablespoon shredded coconut
1 teaspoon black-strap molasses
1 tablespoon coconut oil
First spread the hazelnut butter evenly over the bread, then sprinkle the shredded coconut, then pour the molasses in thin lines over evenly, then pour the oil over evenly. Cut the bread in 4 square pieces. Enjoy!

my personal opinion is that the black strap molasses is better than the maple syrup, even the grade c. it is much higher in mineral content. this is an excellent rundown on its nutritional content, you will feel alot better about using it after reading this.

this is when i realize i am living in a 3rd world country...i can’t get any of these products here...and online they charge way over than if someone personal sent it to me...i tried to order the maple syrup today to get a better grade and it will cost me 70us to ship a liter and will take 6-8 weeks...i love black strap molasses..i miss adding it to my protein shakes but they don’t have here either...i am S.O.L...i am going to do the SWF tomorrow and drink more water...i tend to get dehydrated easily anyway

I personally don’t see a problem with it, especially in the first few days. Once the hunger gets less you will need less lemonade. I started out with more than 12 glasses each day as well and at the end I was at 6 lemonades.
You can also take some maple syrup or black strap molasses straight - that usually helps quite a bit. Do remember to drink plenty of extra water each day!

If you’re feeling really low, have a spoonful of syrup or black strap molasses. I remember almost a year ago when I was doing my first, there were a lot of vets on here and Somer was in the midst of something like a 40 or 50 day cleanse. I did that a couple of times at her suggestion and it worked for me. Either one is nasty straight up but it’s a quick boost of calories and minerals.

Grade B Maple Syrup

My Whole Foods also sells Grade B Maple Syrup but so does Trader Joes which is cheaper (and they even have some that is supposedly organic).
Been substituting black strap molasses for half of the syrup in the evening. Definitely an acquired taste - but it is interesting. Couldn’t dare use that in the batch that I take to work - the color would horrify my colleagues.

I mistakenly thought that black strap molasses was actaully pure maple syrup so i went out and bought a bottle of pure maple syrup--very expensive compared to the norm.
Can anyone tell me if using the syrup is a good idea or not? I read one article which praised its nutritional value but can/ or should it be used as blackstrap is used? ie mixed with lemon juice etc....
I cant get blackstrap mollasess where i live--at least i have not found it yet.

could be a lack of minerals. i would add a good mineral source to your fast like black strap molasses or sea vegetable broth or 100% pure coral calcium. this is my favorite mineral supplement, its fantastic.

I would by some quality organic coffee (not decaf) and add good organic whole milk, perhaps you could take a digestive enzyme if you don’t tolerate milk. For sweetening what about black strap molasses. It’s alkalising! personally I think the chemical used to decaf the coffe would probably be more harmful than the coffe it’s self! Just a thought. Sweetners are not good in my eyes, they are artificial!

Kombucha is said to help with constipation. I also struggled with chronic constipation for years. I did three bowel cleanses, 2 with oxygen cleansers; I found out that psyllium based bowel cleanses are not for most people with chronic constipation.
then I did liver cleanses...
Black Strap Molasses and cayenne pepper powder both may help you some as well as things like chlorella.
I no longer have a problem at all...

I have used ACV with either honey or sorghum for years. I have also used kelp, both powder and tablets. I have also used lemon water both plain and slightly sweetened with good results. I will never ingest calcium hydroxide again.
Even though black strap molasses is full of calcium and iron, I choose not to use it because it is very heavily processed. I prefer reduced syrups, evaporated cane juice or honey for healthy sweeteners.
