Colostrum specific to Lyme disease
by Js.mom 14 y
The beneficial effects of colostrum for Lyme Disease have been known for decades. In 1986, former congressman Berk Bedell actually hired a special farmer to create colostrum which was specific to his own strain of Lyme Disease. The congressman provided blood samples to the farmer and the farmer introduced them into a cow. The cow’s body, in response to being inoculated with Lyme Disease bacteria in the blood sample, began to then manufacture immune substances (known as antibodies) against Lyme Disease. The cow was then impregnated. When the cow provided first milk after the birth of its ca ...

fascinating interview with Willy Burgdorfer

Willie is the discoverer of the Lyme disease spirochete, in fact it is named after him,
In this interview he gives a very candid, and very chilling, assessment of Lyme disease research
He makes it very clear that while mainstream medicine pooh-poohs neurological problems that might be related to Lyme disease, he himself is a very firm that Lyme disease does in fact cause multiple neurological issues and may be related to Alzheimer’s disease
This is a must read for anybody dealing with Lyme disease

Here’s a good quote from the link best123 posted
Mercury is a very strong immunosuppressant, and its presence in the body may mask inflammatory Lyme Disease symptoms. Lyme Disease patients may actually feel that their Lyme Disease symptoms are better when they are mercury-poisoned because the inflammatory response to Lyme Disease is reduced. When mercury is removed from the body, an individual may experience increased Lyme Disease symptoms and herx reactions because the immune system has begun to function properly again.

To say everyone with lyme disease simply has malnutrition is ridicolous. Many people with lyme disease keep track of their nutrition and even lyme disease doctors keep up with their vitamin levels. Not to say there aren’t lyme disease dcctors eho take advntage but I think there is plenty of evidence that lyme disease is real. Look at the forums dedicated to it. People with lyme disease aren’t stupid. To say that lyme disease is simply malnutrition is pretty absurd lol.

Lyme Disease Test
Test Overview
A Lyme disease blood test detects antibodies to the Lyme disease bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi. It is spread by certain kinds of ticks. Lyme disease may be difficult to diagnose because its symptoms are similar to those of many other illnesses. If Lyme disease is suspected, a careful medical history and physical examination will be done. Antibody tests can sometimes be used to help confirm a diagnosis of Lyme disease. Other tests may be done in certain situations.

It sounds like Lyme Disease to me (my husband has chronic Lyme Disease and had exactly the same problems). If you got tick bites 10 years ago, the regular Lyme Disease test won’t show a positive result. If you don’t get adequately treated when you first get the infection, the disease can be manifested years later when your immune system is distressed due to mental or physical stress or other health issues. Regular primary care doctors have no clue about how to treat chronic Lyme Disease, and you need to find a good Lyme Disease doctor. You can go to LymeNet http://flash.lymenet.org/. t ...

Early sign of Lyme disease could be “water on the knee”
by marieflores 9 y

A condition known as “water on the knee” – spontaneous knee effusion – could be a primary sign of early Lyme disease. Early detection and diagnosis is crucial for Lyme disease as it can prevent complications and speed up recovery.
Lyme disease is transmitted through deer-tick bites and is commonly reported in the Northwest or upper Midwest regions of the U.S. Annually the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports 30,000 cases of Lyme disease but according to their estimate about 300,000 cases go unreported.

Tony, thank you for the advice and for replying back to me.
I have had CFS for many years now.....I have chronic Lyme Disease. So, I attributed the CFS to Lyme Disease. Very often people with chronic Lyme Disease have co-infections, such as babesia, bartonella, CPN etc.. But recently I learned that the retrovirus XMRV may be another co-infection that can possibly occur with chronic Lyme Disease and according to Dr. Judy Mikovits XMRV may be a reason that some people never seem to be able beat chronic Lyme Disease.

Many Lyme Disease Tests Unnecessary, Study Finds
By Merritt McKinney
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Many people are unnecessarily tested for Lyme disease, which could lead to misdiagnosis and unnecessary treatment, a new study indicates.
In the study, researchers surveyed 303 physicians about 365 Lyme disease tests that they had ordered.
Analysis of the responses showed that ”only 20 percent of tests were appropriate, 27 percent inappropriate and 53 percent were discretionary,” meaning that their appropriateness was undetermined, Dr. Alan H. Ramsey of the University of Wisconsin ...

Hi Jennifer,
Finding a lyme literate physician is your best bet in the beginning. Most doctors for some sad reason don’t ever think of Lyme disease before diagnosing MS. Lyme disease tests are very
inaccurate and below I am listing why. Trying to convince some doctors your MS could be Lyme is like Columbus trying to convince everyone the world was round when they all thought it was flat. When looking for a Lyme specialist in your area the Lyme Disease Foundation would be a good start.

ALS and Lyme Disease

Your friend might want to get checked for Lyme Disease because chronic Lyme Disease can mimic several neurological diseases.
Dr. David Martz was diagnosed with ALS. And when he was tested for Lyme Disease his test results came back positive. Dr. Martz was then treated for Lyme Disease and his ”ALS” symptoms improved dramatically.
Dr. Martz recovery from diagnosed ALS was featured in the documentary film ”Under Our Skin” and in the book ”Cure Unknown: Inside the Lyme Epidemic”.

Post-Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome and Antibiotics
by Dr.Jeff 11 y

Anyone diagnosed with Lyme’s Disease who continues to suffer any symptoms after being treated with antibiotics, should consider that their symptoms are caused by the antibiotics they took, and not necessarily due to a continuation of the Lyme’s. Any continuation of Lyme symptoms that is due to the causative agent, Borrelia burgdorferi, will most likely be due to antibiotic-resistant strains of Borrelia burgdorferi and the associated antibiotic-induced imbalances.
