In my research on beneficial/commensal microflora, I have run into all kinds of things that seem to effect them, including the items listed in the subject heading.
Sending the microorganims into an inactive or comatose state.
There are some who seem to believe that the use of various forms of probiotics are unable to permanently colonize the gut. I disagree in a healthy human being, understanding that many microorganisms seem to be "transient", while others CAN colonize under the right conditions... I understand their take though... given the damage to our digestive systems from mouth to anus caused by any number of things, this alone could be the cause of that inability to "establish"... as the mucosa and other layers of the tract must be able to support the establishment of these colonies to begin with.
So healing the gut is in order first and foremost... and these microorganisms, including some specific strains seem to be very effective of aiding just that.
That EMFs, including the use of various electronic devices such as Tens units can pretty much void any ability of the microorganisms to establish colonies by putting microorganims into a "comatose" state is a bit concerning.
That "man" throughout his history, prior to refrigeration, consumed microorganisms daily, many times through the use of preservation methods that greatly increased the microorganim counts, is an important fact that must be taken into account here as well.
Looking for some legitimate opinions and research on this SPECIFIC topic... constructive discussion appreciated.
