For 20 years I've had just, excessive build up of mucus, that causes me to spit and cough, then a year ago, as I cough, I got a severe sharp pain on the right side of my four head.. the pain is immediate pain that felt like a knife stabbing, but left immediately.
These symptoms occur four to five times daily, phlegm, cough and severe pain. I discovered, if I can lay down quickly with my face flushed to a bed that I can cough without the severe pain.
There is a cyst and a polyp in my right maxillary sinus, the doctors said
I've seen many doctors, and no one knows what to do, they prescribe me nose sprays, but nothing seems to work, the last suggestion from a neurologist told me to drink coffee for the caffeine, to restrict the expansion of the nerves and blood vessels. Is that expansion of the nerve that is causing the severe pain when I cough, but the doctors do not know what nerve and where it is in my head. A surgeon wanted to operate on the sinus on the maxillary sinus to remove the polyp and syst , the doc couldn't guarantee that would relieve the pain in my four head.
The doc thinks its a cranial nerve, but they can only see it by doing an mri, do to my pacemaker that is out of the question.
I took scans and they didn't show the cranial arteries, and did not find the problem.
This has been going on for a year.
So the coughing pain only happens when I'm sitting up standing or walking?
this is only do to the mucus buildup, if I can stop the mucus problem, I could stop the coughing.
Unsure if it's coming from the lungs and i'm spitting up large volumes of sputum.
I also have acid reflux.
but i need to stopped this severe coughing, the sharp pain is excruciating. please help. Because the doctors can't figure it out.
if you're reading, this. Thank you for taking the time to read, and I appreciate in advance any help for my problem.
