I have Lymphedema and I am trying to make it better, among other things by rebounding on a mini trampoline. I read (in an e-book by Peter Hodges) that sessions of two minutes every hour is the best. This should be a great place for us (lymphedema patients) to share our knowledge, experiences and provide support to each other. ... ... It’s so easy to feel alone when you have this condition. The majority of Drs are unaware of the condition and treatment options for it. Many dismiss it as ”just swelling, learn to live with it”. Most patients end up self diagnosing the condition through their own research. There is so little information on this disease. It is a lifelong battle with no cure. It first manifested during pregnancy with my son and was, at that time, diagnosed as severe edema on the verge of toxemia. ... ... I hadn’t heard of anyone with your particular experience. I mean, I know it creeps and spreads into other areas (limbs, torsos, faces, etc) but overall body sepsis. Yikes! How terrible it must have been (/still is periodically?) for you. Y’know, it seems the more one finds out about this condition the scarier it is. I empathize completely. I was 37 (I’m 44 now) when my foot swelled up overnight. And, yes, completely and totally depressed when I realized there would be no more sexy little strappy sandals! (pout, pout) No stiletto pumps or most other ”real people” fun shoes, for that matter. =( Oh well, I now mostly wear the little half boots in a size too big so I can get the zipper closed on the right foot while layering extra socks onto the left foot to fill up the space.
