Okay, I know there is a lot of hype about 2012 and I don’t really know if there is something specific that happened at the end of 2012 that shifted the energy of the world. It is possible and I certainly do feel some dramatic changes taking place in my own life. But there is certainly a big shift in the way people are behaving and this has been happening for a while. I have been religious for parts of my life, have considered myself a Christian and even though I have gotten away from religion and ventured more into meditation, I have still had a fond place in my heart for religions of t ...   [retrieve this message]

African spirituality has failed to address the main issue confronting Africans worldwide. I see it here it in the Caribbean where I live. I read it on forums where African people post. From anything I can decipher about religion, it has nothing to do with god or spirituality. It is pretty much about social control. Make the poor content with their lot, the slaves obedient to their master’s will, etc. After all, their reward is in Heaven, right??? And if they aren’t obedient or content, then, well, says the priests, they don’t go to heaven, instead to hell, a place of eternal torment. Of course, once people could read, the all knowing priests had to back off some, but still they use the guilt tripping and threat of eternal damnation as powerful control tools to keep the ...   [retrieve this message]

Hi Folks, ... ... Very interesting forum. Recently came upon it and the debating is terrific. ... ... Ok, here is my question. The debate here seems to center (and pls. tell me if I am wrong as I readily admit to knowing little of the Bible) on whether Christianity is the only religion recognized by God, and whether the words in the Bible are in fact the words of God as opposed to man ”saying” they are the words of God.
