OK that’s an exaggeration!!!
What’s true is that only a small amount of daily garlic (half to one clove) is needed to lower bad cholesterol and raise “good” cholesterol. Garlic increases bile acid excretion. Garlic has antiviral properties; among viruses sensitive to it are cold, herpes simplex and flu. Garlic is a bactericide & fungicide; it strongly inhibits Candida and E. Coli. Garlic diminishes hypertension blood pressure and dilates restricted blood vessels. There is strong evidence – much research ongoing – that garlic may prevent stomach cancer. I could go on.
What is especially interesting is that all those reported effects come from mainstream medicine reports, so garlic is something that everyone agrees on. I am a huge garlic fan. I started taking it daily after my cholesterol shot up and, within 2 months, it was better than ever!
What sort of pain does your friend have? Is it a burning pain? Raw garlic can be irritating to the stomach lining. I take it by juicing
it with something else; otherwise I get burning pain and acid reflux due to a hiatus hernia. She could take it in powder, capsule or pill form, but you have to be careful that it has been properly processed. I don’t know the US system, but what you need is a product that a doctor would prescribe, that way you know the active ingredients wont have been destroyed.
Incidentally, the breath and skin smells you get from taking raw garlic vanish after you’ve been on it for a couple of weeks.
