When all these symptoms started I had NO idea what was going on. I felt a twitching in my anal area, much like the ones you get when your eye spasms, I thought it was really bizarre, but tried to ignore. Did some research and figured it might just be hemorrhoids. I had seen pinworms in the list of possibilities for my symptoms but ruled it out because I did not have intense itching. The feeling didnt go away. In fact, the twitching became much more like a wormy sensation. I remembered then that I had seen worms as a possibility and looked them up immediately.
Now the fun begins.
I read the signs and thought for SURE that it was pinworms, totally unmistakable! I cried and cried. I tried various meds/remedies etc to eradicate the problem. The first few didnt seem to work at all. Then I tried the vermox for the second time and I got relief for a couple days. That really confirmed my theory in my opinion. It did seem that eating carbs or
Sugar made things worse which only confirmed my theory more. The wiggly feelings happened ANY TIME OF THE DAY but I noticed them at night particularly because I was LOOKING for them at night. I also had the runs for 3 days and didnt feel ANY wiggling during that time, I had assumed it was because the worms were being expelled or not able to hold on. Seems like the pinworm theory is pretty obvious at this point, huh?
Not exactly.
Here are some factors that have made some people think that I might NOT have them. Let me start by saying that no one in my house has *ever* felt any symptoms (3 other roomates). Whenever I felt the wormy feeling the strongest .. I would run into the bathroom as fast as possible, throw my pants off, spread em, and looked in the mirror. Nothing. Not ever. I search in my stool every time, nothing. I look on everything that touches my rear: washcloths, toilet paper, underwear, etc, and nothing. Ive even stuck a gloved hand up there trying like mad to find something. And finally, the most common symptom that everyone uses to diagnose the pins is intense anal itching.. I dont have that. When I came to the conclusion that I definitely had them, I thought "anal itching" was every website and persons way of saying "feeling worms in your butt" in a more polite and less disgusting way. Is this not true? Is this supposed to be a sign because the wiggling creates a sort of irritating feeling at times?
I have gone back and forth with myself abt a dozen times, saying "yes I definitely have them! You cant mistake the feeling of WORMS crawling around in and outside your behind!" then weeks later going back to saying "this is just little tiny bubbles of gas creating a very weird sensation". The one time I thought I saw worms in my stool actually turned out to be a bunch of really tiny gas bubbles. Those bubbles are always in my stool since this started. I am always passing teeny tiny little amounts of gas since this happened, too. I thought it was a side effect of the worms (could be?) and Ive also seen that some people experience diarrhea when they have pins. I am very much the opposite ... I am totally backed up.
I dont know what to think anymore. The last few days I have been in denial over having the worms, probably because the symptoms are extremely few and could definitely just be tiny gas expulsions. However, when the symptoms come back, Im sure Ill go right back to feeling like it couldnt be anything BUT worms. I am torn! I need to know your opinions... its so important to me.
BTW, Ive been eating ice cream non stop for the past 3 days to see if the symptoms increase. They havent. Yet.
