Hey everybody,
I have been reading this forum for a while now but now I am finally deciding to start my own thread in hoping that I can get your expert opinions.
Let me start with the beginning of my story.
Back in August of 2010, I was a 100% completely healthy 22 year male old college student. I had a very well balanced diet, was an appropriate weight (5'11 - 165), ran a mile everyday and went to the gym three times a week. I did drink 1-2 times a week and smoked pot every single day but never had a problem with any of that. I basically had a perfect life.
Then hell started for me. In late August of that year, I got a real bad case of heartburn/indigestion from taking too much naproxen/asprin. No big deal. Went to my doctor and he suggested taking Prilosec OTC. I took his advice and picked some up immediately. The first 4 days I felt pretty much back to normal. I did notice some soreness in my legs where that big vein is but I didn't think anything of it. On the fifth day, I had a serious health crisis. In the middle of the night my heart hurt so bad, the veins in my neck were protruding, and my heart was pounding at a speed I have never felt before. Needless to say I was scared out of my mind. I even wrote a goodbye letter to my parent if I ended up dying that night. I went to the hospital the next day. I was low on potassium, my blood pressure was 190/140 and my pulse was 145 resting. Ekg and all of the other blood tests were normal. I told them about the Prilosec but they said that was impossible. They were convinced it was anxiety and they pumped me with an ungodly amount of Ativan (anxiety medicine). It was literally bags and bags of the stuff. By the time I had all of the Ativan in me I felt drunk/wasted off the stuff. Once my blood pressure went down to 160/100 and my pulse was down to 100 bpm resting, they sent me home. Little did I know I had only begun my journey into sickness.
For the next month, the high blood pressure/high pulse remain with me constantly. I also had poorly digested stools, chest pains, shortness of breath, confusion and blurry vision. I also got a kidney infection for the first time in my life and was given Cipro. At this point I didn't trust conventional medicine and only took a half of a 250 mg pill. I immediately had terrible side effects. Low blood pressure (90/45), sore joints and dizziness. Quit that immediately and cured my kidney infection with
Colloidal Silver . Alcohol made me feel terrible and I couldn't smoke pot anymore because it was cause my heart to beat super fast and get esophageal spasms. During this month I went and saw a ton of specialist and was put on all sorts of medications. I saw a gastroenterologist (endoscopy), endocrinologist (full thyroid panel), and a cardiologist (full cardiac workup - blood tests, stress tests, and ultrasound) and every test came back fine. They gave me a whole list of medications to try but I only ended up trying a handful. I had Prilosec, Cipro, Zantac, Ativan, and Zyprexa with Prilosec doing the most damage.
After this month of torture I decided to delve into into natural medicine. I did some research and found that St. John's Wort has been shown to drastically remove Prilosec from the bloodstream. After two days on St. John's Wort, my BP was 120/70 and my pulse was 75 bpm. My confusion cleared up and I thought I had turned a corner. It turns out that I was unable to process and eliminate the Prilosec from my body and everyday I took a pill, it would build up even more in my system until the fifth day when I had a health crisis and almost died. Now this poison had been at overdose levels in my body for over a month until I was able to eliminate it so I'm basically convinced my liver had been trashed.
Even though I was able to eliminate the Prilosec from my system, the damage had been done. For many many months after this, I suffered with anxiety, chest pains, weight gain, shortness of breath, depression, pounding heart, dry skin, dry eyes, eye floaters, eczema, low libido, dandruff, poor digestion, esophageal spasms, and some more symptoms I can't remember right now. I found a great natural doctor/holistic healer named Dr. Jon Repole. He ran some stool and saliva test (expensive ass tests) and came to the conclusion that my liver has been raped, along with adrenal fatigue and an exploded digestive system (almost no good bacteria). He had me eliminate three things from my diet: gluten, sugar, and dairy. This seemed pretty daunting at the time but I wanted to be healthy so bad.
1.5 months after starting my gluten, dairy, and
Sugar free diet, A LOT of things cleared up. My pounding heart, skin rashes (eczema), indigestion, tight throat and mental fogginess had gotten significantly better. Went back for some more tests with the natural doctor and they showed my adrenal fatigue had completely corrected itself and my digestion went from no good baterica, to the absolute right amount. I thought this was the answer but yet, I didn't feel back to normal. I still don't feel like myself.
This brings me to where I am today. I still don't feel like my old self. I am still seeing Dr. Repole and he has given me this gastro-cleansing kit that I am putting off for a couple of weeks so I can do the
Liver Flush first. I did do a single Clark
Liver Flush back about 6 months ago. I did not get any stones but I did get this very shiny chaff stuff. I did not feel that much better afterward but I am hoping it takes multiple, consecutive flushes.
Here are the symptoms that I am dealing with today.
- Anxiety/Depression
- Crazy
food intolerances (gluten, dairy, sugar, eggs)
- Dry Skin/Dandruff
- Eczema
- Poor digestion
- Loose Stools
- Light brown stools (not enough bile)
- Rarely get grey stools (no bile)
- Chest Tightness/Chest Pain
- Post Nasal Drip
- Allegies
- Gas
- Eye Floaters
- Very little Perspiration
Here is what I am currently doing:
- St. John's Wort daily to increase cytochrome p450 production
- Gluten, Sugar, Dairy, and Egg free diet (lots of fresh fruits, veggies, and lean meats, no processed foods)
- 1 Juice per day (juice= kale, spinach, beet, lemon, ginger, cucumber juice from Whole Foods Juice bar)
- Juice fasting monthly (4-5 days per fast)
- Had 7
colonics in one month (about a month ago, get a monthly maintenence colonic)
So this weekend I am going to start a flushing routine that I will repeat every two weeks. I am going with the Clark method because it seems the simplest. I am going to Apple Juice fast for two or three days before in order to soften up those stones.
What do you guys think? Think it sounds like an abused liver? It does to me. I have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on trying to heal myself but to no avail. I really hope flushing is the answer. I'm gonna give it 5 or 6 flushes before I pass judgement on this method. I also plan to add some Chlorella powder to my juice to help detox my liver. I will be updating this thread as I progress. Thanks ahead of time.
