i apologize if this question has been asked before...
i very much need to ask of everyone, for any remedies, topical or systemic, that might be able to clear an infection that has spread to the jaw bone from a dental abscess... if anyone could please share their advice with me, i would appreciate it so much, i am so scared...
:::if you can only help with the above part, please do, and skip the rest, but if you have a little more time and might be able to read, i also would welcome advice on...
what i should do, in a larger sense, for teeth that - as a child i had neglectful parents who never taught me to brush, and i certainly didnt have good nutrition in place, and as a result, every one of my teeth is filled (which i certainly dont want in my mouth, but these days i feel it is more critical that all the structures of my teeth are compromised and, probably letting bacteria creep in where the fillings are and, fester, and, i am so scared what that can do the heart, etc...) and one has been root canaled, and
...i've read about how nutrition can heal teeth, but i have the impression that might be more for keeping teeth healthy and less for, once they have been filled...
don't you wish there was a way to regrow the part of your own natural teeth that had been drilled out by dentists?! :)
...if i ever get to "fix" my teeth, i'm not sure if i should attempt to have all these fillings just replaced, and, for example with the area that's now abscessed, i'm not sure how many teeth could be affected and i think, to root canal even one tooth (let alone several!) would be bad, so do you think i should just have ...so many... teeth pulled? :( i want to hear what you all think...
thank you to everyone in this community who helps me, and others, in times of need!
Purchase some oregano oil, and take high doses internally.
Work out some method to keep the infected area warm. This increases the blood flow to the area, with the supply of immune cells. You may, for example, get a hot water bottle, fill it with hot water, wrap it in a cloth, and hold it against the jaw.
It can be very painful, but as the infection is killed off, the pain will reduce.
If the abscess is open, put some salt in water, and gargle it.
This infection is super hard to get to, I think that using the strong antibiotics such as clindamycin is the biggest waste of time ever, to me the risk of the devastating side effects are to great, If you absolutlely must take antibiotics ask for it in the IV form and save your stomach all the pain, auguish and possible hospitalization!
The fastest and most effective way I think to treat a jaw bone infection is ozone injections into the tissue and into the jaw bone get a good dentist that does ozone injection be sure they do not go over your threshold or you will have a little bit of a headache for few days. Ask for less at first to see how you react. OZONE is amazing miraculous. Get on a strong Chinese herbs , find a Chinese medicine doctor that can prescribe the equivalent of a strong antibiotics but with herbs, and plus herbs have little to no side effects , that is what I did.
Buy a near infrared light lamp read Dr Wilson work , you can actually run over to the store and buy a heat lamp light 250 watt and get a light fixture in the hardware department it is one of those cone shaped things used at construction sites and always stays cool screw the light into the fixture and poof you have a near infrared light
It is difficult to give advice about teeth without knowing how bad they are. A good dentist is probably the best person for this.
I suggest keep your teeth as long as possible. Real teeth are better than false teeth. But the time may come when that is not an option.
I have some Amalgam fillings from back in the days when I believed that everything a dentist does for you, is good for you. As I need work done to the teeth involved, I will have the amalgam replaced. I will not just have them all replaced immediately. I know others do that.
The above suggestion re oregano oil sounds great! I´d also do oil pulling (I´ve sucessfully used organic sunflower oil) with a drop or two of oregano oil - will burn, but one gets used to it. Do this as often as you can, I´m sure this could help. Also Arnica Montana (homeopatic globulis) should help - would´nt know which dosis to recommend, but D6 is fairly harmless. Hubby sucessfully uses a tincture called "Arnica Heel", I think he takes 10 drops under the tongue???? Careful, may burn! Or with some warm water, gargle. I get drowsy and tired when I use, so usually take this in the eve. before bedtime and it does seem to work wonders.
Salud and best wishes!
I assume that you are asking because you do not want to seek help from a dentist and take antibiotics? An abcess can be very dangerous, it is a poisionous infection. It can lead to serious infection throughout your body. I did not know this when I had one, and it was just an annoying bump on my gum.
I was taking large amounts of garlic internally for a parasite infection. A couple of months later, I realized it cleared my abcess at some point along the line. Garlic is an amazing natural antibiotic. It will take longer than the pharma route, but it will not cause the other longterm effects that antibiotics do, and has many other healthy benefits as well.
It may burn, but you can also apply it topically, maybe make a poultice with mashed garlic and some BF&C (you can purchase from Uniquity or make your own), or even just mashed garlic applied for a few minutes several times daily. Oregano oil is another good suggestion, but I can only attest to the fact that garlic is what cleared mine.
I used raw garlic to help with infection also. I ate alot and it works! (My friend did not like the smell.) You are going to have to do something about the odor by eating parsley because I reeked of garlic and had many people complain to the boss that I smelled.
Yeah, I smelled also. I doubt that parsley would even help. It wasn't my breath that smelled, it was radiating from every pore in my body (which is actually a good thing knowing it's in every crevice).
I have found that keeping things moving, and taking psyllium daily helps to flush it out, otherwise it just sits in the body and is heated within like a warming potpourri machine. My boyfriend said that when I walked across the room, it was like someone sprayed garlic febreze lol.
Bingo! It oozes out of every pore. I ate the stuff raw and minimized the discomfort by eating it with food. Eggs, veggies, crackers..you name it. I stank to high heaven.
The more potent and healthful the garlic, the more it burns and is harder on your digestion so be careful. I was cutting garlic and it actually burned my finger. When the garlic is that potent, the health benefits are there.
Don't buy garlic from China. It is grown in human feces and also bleached.
Try to find a place to buy garlic that has a high turnover. If the garlic starts sprouting, the health benefits are compromised.
WOW, THANKS EVERYONE! ARN, QUALITYOFLIFE, MU-SHEN, SD2345! :) i'm so sorry i didnt get back to you sooner - i wasn't expecting such a wonderful outpouring of support so soon! :)
...i will definitely try the oregano and garlic (by the way, i don't think there is any abscess visible, there is only a pocket of pain along the edge of my jaw that can be felt from the outside, do u think that is something else, and/or something worse??)
...i can't see a dentist now, for a number of reasons :( ...can't afford but also can't get to the dentist, and also i have anxiety about having the dentist up that close to me :(
...and i dont know what action i could go with i did see one - if they want to do root canal(S), i dont want that, so what can i do? i don't know much about this - do you know if they can treat the infection with antibiotics, then (in case the filling has leaked and is letting substances/bacteria in) do a new filling and have that be enough? or otherwise i'd have to get the tooth pulled?
(and then i am worried about "dry socket" and/or cavitation - are those the same thing? and in case that has to happen, are there any ways to prevent that/those?)
THANK YOU ALL, FOR YOUR GUIDANCE, THROUGH THIS VERY HARROWING TIME...
I wanted to let you know from my own personal experience, that biting down hard on your teeth at night can cause extreme pain in the jaw line. It happened to me.
I used the garlic protocol which helped tremendously and was also dirt cheap but I still went to the dentist for an X-ray and he told me there was no cause for that kind of pain. He told me to stop gnashing or biting my teeth at night and see if the pain subsides.
At night, I positioned myself with my head raised and slept on my back. The pain is no longer there. I put so much pressure on my teeth which caused the excruciating pain in my jaw line.
I would still do the suggestions offered in this thread but also try to make sure you are not putting any pressure on your teeth at night.
THANKS, mrcuddly, parazapper, and thanks AGAIN qualityoflife! :)
unfortunately, since i last posted, my situation has become more worriesome - the pain along my jawline is a very defined pocket of pain that isnt near my wisdom tooth - now behind my wisdom tooth there seems to be a SEPARATE abscess, and also the upper teeth (where i HAVE had problems - it was so weird, because the lower teeth i never really realized i was having problems...) are having a different kind of pain!
...i am going to do the oil pulling, plus i have oregano softgels that i can add a drop to the pulling oil (and take internally, but i'm not sure how much/how often - any ideas?), and also i have d-limonene softgels which i think are a strong anti-infective (but again i'm not sure how much/how often?), and i have transdermal magnesium oil which i was thinking of swishing with (though it is the most bitterest, awful thing, if it helps i'll try it!), and i have a tincture of cayenne/bloodroot and some other herbs, AND - for healing - i am ordering some high vitamin butter oil that i am HOPING can help heal my teeth...
i am doing as much as i can...
oh, i had wanted to ask of you all - do you know if it's normal to have a sort of "indentation" that can be felt along the jaw line? do any of you have that? ...on the OTHER side, not related to this infection, my jawline has a thumb-print sized notch just before the corner of my jaw, and i don't know if that is normal or, bone loss or some other cause for worry...
The oil pulling with oregano oil will definitely help. But to get rid of pain and multiple abscesses as quickly as possible try clay. You can find it online or any healthfood store for cheap.
The Yerba Prima liquid clay works great as is, or you can us the Azteca brand found in healthfood stores and just diluted a few tablespoons enough until it's liquidy and swish it around. The drawing out power of the clay is phenomenal for infections, abscesses etc - and is the best for quickly neutralizing the pain.
Best thing is to do both - but definitely don't forget the clay.
hi everyone, i'm sorry if it may have seemed like once my problem was lessened i just flaked out, i lost my internet access
...i wanted to tell everyone all that i'm doing, for anyone else who stumbles across this thread and may be suffering the same...
along with swishing 1 teaspoon coconut oil, 2x a day - and following with a *diluted* swish of a cayenne-based tincture called "peri-gum" which i believe also helped, i am:
taking d-limone softgels, and oregano softgels, 1 of each along with 2 capsules of clove _every 4 hours_ (for about a week now) - and i do think they were important in helping, systemically (but what i think made the most difference, i'll get to, after)
...i wanted to ask though, do you think this might be too strong, that it could wipe out my body's good bacteria and, if so, how long do you think is too long to stay on them?
what i think really made a difference though, has been, as MRCUDDLY suggested, the Bentonite clay.
the d-limonene, clove, and oregano i do think had been helping, systemically, but after 3-4 days there were still all blisters throughout my mouth :(
so i took the clay - but, having tried a clay detox DRINK before and it smelled really moldy and i thought using it would be like that again, so i tried to see if i could find a way to make using it more bearable, so i used the YERBA PRIMA *HYDRATED* BENTONITE and i didnt go with full-on swishing, i:
took little squares of paper towels and wet each from the top of the clay's bottle, and draped each, clay side down, over the affected areas and tucked the edges between my cheek and gums, and in some cases, under my tongue (at first it was a little tricky not to gag, but then i got it right and, i barely even noticed them!)
and what i want to RAVE about is, how the YERBA PRIMA clay had NO moldy smell or taste, it had no or very little any taste at all and i was surprised how creamy it was ...i am very happy about this!
and most importantly, it made a big difference in the infection! (and , yerba prima's the only kind i could find that comes in fully hydrated form, which i think is important because i think if the clay's not fully hydrated already, maybe it would rob hydration, minerals, or who knows what else from what you use it on...?
and, ESSENTIALLY for a hydrated clay, yerba prima's comes in a GLASS bottle - ESSENTIAL because i have read that pre-hydrated clay can leach components from plastic! ...so yes, like mrcuddly i cant recommend this brand enough, and i hope it never goes away!)
...the blisters have gone away, although there is still some swelling and, i do feel that there is a problem (whether it be decay/leaky filling/root canal) that could get out of hand if i dont keep dilligently managing it - so to anyone else in this situation, please dont stop just because you think the infection is gone, because it might be waiting to come back if you let it take hold!
i also needed to ask, though, if anyone here knows if clay is safe to use with teeth - i was worrying that, clay might chelate minerals--from our teeth (?)
...or might chelate mercury out of fillings which in one way i'd think to be a good thing, but if it might compromise the fillings and make them more likely to fall out, i personally have to be careful because im not able to get dental care should they fall out!
and the other thing i wanted to ask was, if anyone knows if there is anything stronger than bentonite (maybe another type of clay, or anything else) that might be even stronger? because so far, i still have some CHEEK swelling i mentioned, and i have a chronic sore throat and ear infection that i think is because of this... i do worry that the bone is infected and im doing the best i can...
i also just got some grass fed butter oil and a (plastic) syringe and, i'm going to be trying taking some of the butter oil as a supplement (teaspoon/tablespoonfulls), swishing with some, and also irrigating with it to hopefully get it really down to the root of the problem (UPDATE & WARNING: I GOT A SYRINGE W/ A VERY FINE TIP FOR REALLY GETTING IN TO DENTAL POCKETS AND CLOSER TO THE ROOTS BUT, THE BUTTER OIL IS TOO THICK TO FLOW THRU THE TIP - AND I ALMOST SEVERELY INJURED MY MOUTH TRYING TO FORCE IT ...PLEASE, NEVER GIVE THE SYRINGE ITS FIRST PRESS WHILE IN YOUR MOUTH, ALWAYS TEST IT BEFORE STARTING! ...back to the drawing board on that part! but), hopefully it can heal the teeth...
and along with it, i am taking - 2x a day, at least 12 hours apart - a particular calcium supplement which i believe to be the most complete one i can find - since calcium may not do much good if your body doesnt properly use it, it's called bone building formula by Swanson Vitamins - it has calcium in the form of microcrystalline hydroxyapatite [from actual bone], better than calcium carbonite etc. along with all the cofactors - magnesium, vitamin d, vitamin k, and even phosporous and boron and manganese, really hard to find all in one product, and in capsules not tablets! i'm very passionate about this product :)
AND in addition - but never less than 6 hours apart - i am also taking, also from swanson, STRONTIUM citrate BUT making sure to take it 6 hours away from either of the calcium doses because i've read that the reason why strontium is so great for strengthening bones is because it can *take the place of some calcium* and is stronger...
i know i should be taking it with _fermented_ cod liver oil, but the butter oil is already more than i can afford (though there is FINALLY more than one brand/a slightly cheaper brand available - but i'd sure like if there could be some more affordable options! - it's by NUTRAPRO and i got it on amazon dot com - type in nutrapro butter oil - for a total of $48), and the fermented cod liver oil, i can't find any that i can afford so i have to wait...
i will post back about/if the butter oil helps me...
SORRY I WROTE SO MUCH, BUT I HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE...
THANK YOU TO THE OTHERS WHO HAVE GIVEN ME ADVICE AND HELP - GOD BLESS!
Great! I'm glad you tried the clay. If you want something stronger than the yerba prima, get regular powdered Bentonite clay and dilute it yourself so that it's thicker than the Yerba. I use the Azteca brand for that (also usually available at healthfood stores). That stuff REALLY draws it out.
Don't worry too much about mineral depletion, etc. Its a temporary setback, and what's ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL is getting rid of the infection. I would also take antibiotics if you can so you're attacking it on as many fronts as possible. I'm against antibiotics usually, but again, use all available tools to kill a mouth infection. It can cause big problems with adjacent teeth, jawbone, and even your heart and cardiovascular system if you don't knock it out.
THANKS EXPLORER, FOR TAKING THE TIME TO PROVIDE THOSE IMAGES, and THANKS MRCUDDLY FOR CONTINUING TO HELP OUT...
i guess i will try the clay powder ...i am still having pain but not sure if it is "infection" or ache from decay
...i wish there was some way - that i could manage - to heal my teeth - i've read about the nutritional ways (butter oil, fermented cod liver oil, organ meat - but even if i was okay with eating organ meat or meat in general, as i generally dont eat meat)
i am having a hard time affording food currently and also dont have access to shopping (...it's pretty bad ...i also dont think i can afford to buy the powder clay right now, and dont have access to it locally either so i was thinking about using some "french green montmorillite" clay that i have here...)
so i cant really do beyond the butter oil (the fermented cod liver oil, i cant afford yet) and maybe ...i've read that pure xylitol crystals can help, i can try affording/consuming a lot of xylitol and also packing my teeth with it...
i've also read about " low intensity pulsed ultrasound " / LIPUS and the technology's only kind of limited available to the public and even so i dont think i could afford it ...so i was thinking about buying an ultrasound massager and just doing my best with that...
The French Green Clay should work just as well. If you're going to swallow it make sure it's food grade, otherwise just rinse it out when you're done.
When I had a recent tooth infection and abscess (my tooth was literally in pieces) I diluted the powdered clay to a thick consistancy and literally packed it on to the inflamed and abscessed areas.
When I finally made it to the dentist, he couldn't believe I wasn't in any pain and was able to last the weekend without being seen. I didn't bother mentioning that it had been like that for over a month...
There are some great videos on YouTube regarding reversing dental decay with nutrition: high-quality animal fats, proteins CLO, etc. It's expensive and time-consuming and requires diligence, but I was pretty convinces when I watched them a few years ago. (The guy has his own protocol, and did not seem too interested then in this forum: you can enter "reverse dental decay" at YouTube and look at the videos.
OP is helpful for mouth/gum health but deeper infections such as yours need to be treated, as others have said, from the inside out. I'd try adding ooo (oil of oregano) to whatever base oil you're using for OP. (Caution: don't do too much at the outset: powerful stuff and when I first started oil pulling I went overboard with the ooo and got a canker sore on the bottom of my tongue that was so painful I was about to check myself in!)
When I had an abscess that was so painful that even Vicodin would not help, I packed it with cayenne pepper. Cayenne has a) circulation-boosting properties and b) capsaicin -- what makes hot peppers hot -- which contains an opiod-like substance that numbs. (A few years ago Harvard was trying to isolate this substance for eye surgery, etc.) Anyway, it hurts at the outset but is worth it if you are up late with dental/mouth pain, which is the worst!
If you're looking at a deep infection that has caused bone damage -- well, I'd be OK with getting the tooth extracted (rather than, as you mention, getting a root canal). What you want to avoid in any head-infection problem is the spread of bacteria to sinuses, ears, etc. It's been one time I've been willing to take antibiotics -- though they will just temporarily treat the abscess you can see.
thanks so much for your very helpful post!
i am so thankful that caring people such as yourself, are still taking the time to add to my thread -
more GREAT suggestions to try, while i'm unable to get dental care,
AND help for others who in the future may find themselves with the same problem!
it may not be the same as the protocol you're referencing (i'll go check that on utube),
but i did read about a nutritional protocol with butter oil, fermented cod liver oil, and a 'carnivorous' diet, but...
besides the fact that i'm not very comfortable eating meat, and don't know if i could eat 'organ' meat...
for me, i couldnt afford to do the protocol...
i tried adding butter oil to my diet, but it was $50 a jar, and regular fish oil - couldnt afford the fermented cod kind, and i cant afford to change my diet.
i know some people may shrug, that if i care about my health i'd make it happen, but i can barely afford food of any sort now, and i have to eat whatever i have access to...
and the butter oil, alone, i wasn't able to add enough to my diet because i struggled to find things i could add it to...i couldnt just take it by the spoonful
...so, so far the butter oil - i'm not blaming the protocol, because i havent been able to afford to do the whole protocol, but, i don't think that what i could do, has helped, and i've possibly wasted money i couldnt afford to lose...
it is also my understanding that the protocol(s) say that once a tooth's been compromised by having a filling (or worse, by being root canaled),
that the protocol's effects are limited and, all but (i am so upset about this--) my front teeth have fillings! :(
and i'm sure there are some other people in the same situation, and now what can we do, lose all our teeth? :(
...i tried a dab of oregano oil straight, and also adding a bit to my oil for oil pulling, but it was so bitter, and i dont know if it helped
***i tried an opened d-limonene softgel,
mixed with a bit of usp grade dmso from a glass bottle (never buy dmso sold or manufactured in plastic, and never, when handling it, let it touch plastic, it dissolves the plastic and would take that to your bloodstream which u dont really want...) and swabbed my gums with that, and it was ***pleasant*** and i think it's helped...
***the cayenne i think is a fabulous idea! i just, TODAY, saw a bottle of cayenne caps in my medicine cabinet and i thought -
(to anyone reading this, if you've never taken cayenne capsules by mouth before, if u have any known "ulcer" at all, do not take them!
and in any case, please be careful, some people have to run to the bathroom after taking them, and/or they feel warmth to burning inside...
and, i dont know if it would help, but i'd say have some pepto bismol or other bismuth drink close by, in hopes that it could help with any burning...
thankfully, the capsules havent bothered my stomach, so) -
i thought maybe if i, cautiously, take some capsules by mouth (in addition to dabbing a bit of powder near the infection), maybe it will be good for my teeth, systemically...
i wanted to tell any others who may find this, i have had good results with capsules of clove taken internally.
i was able to get some cheaper from swansonvitaminsdotcom by swanson's own brand, but i had even better results with a brand called kroger.
in the past, when the infection wasnt so bad, i think i took 1 in the mornings and 1 at night, but when the infection got bad, i was taking - the swanson brand which seemed a little weaker - *2 every 4 hours*,
along with d-limonene softgels internally,
in the past, 1 a day ...when the infection got really bad, *1 every 4 hours*
..........but i was reluctant to stay on these for longer than 10 days at a time without a break, because i was worried the infection would get resistant and they wouldnt work anymore, so i am taking a break from those...
tomorrow, i might try ONION slices :) supposed to be very drawing of infection ...i'll keep posting what helps and what doesnt......
Hi, I am in similar situation, can't afford thousands of $$$ for rootcanals, I am just wondering how you are doing and if all of this actually really helped. So not just does it not hurt, but is all the swelling gone and can you chew? I haven't chewed on my left for a while now. Would love to find something that really works, is there anybody here who has it confirmed through xrays that the infection is gone? I have been oil pulling with coconut oil and I'm gonna try adding the oregano oil tomorow. Blessings
hi, i'm so sorry i'm so late to answer, i've been so busy i haven't come here and didnt know about your post ...how are you doing with your mouth troubles?
while it really does depend what could be causing your trouble -
like, if u have natural (un-filled) teeth that are getting pain and infections, i really believe it's possible to heal (even decay) with remedies and nourishment
(for you, can you tell if the pain is coming from one tooth, or is it like pain/abscesses all over? my fillings are definitely deteriorating, but i was having abscesses crop up all over, even by my front teeth which have no fillings and i know that my gums are receded so at least part of it is widespread periodontal infection)
...but if, like me, u have fillings, i think it's more of managing it until u can get help ...and i want to tell u that - thank god, and i hope something doesnt go wrong as soon as i type this! - i know there's still an underlying problem, but,
i can, more than chew, my teeth feel nearly normal,
and just the inside of my cheek (but nothing on the side of my gums) sometimes slightly puffs up
...if i slack off, i do start to feel like trouble might be brewing, but i get back to it before that happens ...knock wood!
i know i discussed so many kinds of crazy remedies thru the course of all my posts, but the three things i feel helped the most are, SERRAPEPTASE, LIQUID CLAY, AND XYLITOL (details below), serrapeptase for treating from the inside, liquid clay for targeting the area, and xylitol for maintenance.
here is all of what helped:
capsules of: clove (kroger brand i feel is more potent than others i've tried), and softgels of oregano ("now/now foods" brand) and d-limonene softgels (swanson brand from swansonvitaminsdotcom), 2 OF EACH EVERY 4 HOURS
- i think these are really powerful but i was worried about becoming resistant so i only stayed on them for a week, and then there was a gap before i switched to...
serrapeptase (4 capsules of 60,000iu, 3x a day for a total of 12 a day) ...source naturals brand, 120capsules/10 days at 12 a day for a little over $20 a bottle, and i've been able to go off it now...
really made my mouth feel almost normal (so i think the serrapeptase is the powerhouse!), and the rest i have concentrated on treatments in my mouth, such as
when the infection was at its worst, i was using inside my mouth, hydrated Bentonite clay (clay powder fully hydrated with water to a lotiony texture, with a bland taste, i use yerba prima brand because it comes in a glass bottle which i feel is very important ...clay, once hydrated/wet can leach from plastics so u dont want that...)
i would wet little squares of paper towels with it and tuck a square, big enough, both along the inside of my cheek and gum and also under my tongue, to help draw out the infection ...this made a huge difference!
...i did at one point think it wasnt strong enough and i used dry "french Green Clay " from swansonvitaminsdotcom and i do feel it was stronger, though messy and tiresome to do...
and for a while i was irrigating my gums with a "syringe" of either closys mouthwash or a syringe of peri-gum - cayenne - mouthwash concentrate
...when i diluted this according to the instructions and used as a mouthwash, it stung a bit,
but then one time i felt i needed really strong treatment so i put a teeny bit, undiluted, in the syringe, and squirted it in the pocket behind my wisdom tooth,
and, actually, i dont know why, but especially when directed outward towards my cheek, it didnt burn,
if i let it spill inward and get under my tongue, that burned and made my mouth water...
PLEASE USE CAUTION, for you this might burn...
NOW ALL I HAVE TO DO IS brushing my teeth with xylitol and it maintains and as i have time i do extra steps,
(also i was taking 1tsp of xylitol 3x a day for a while, 1-3 times a day i was mixing the xylitol w/coconut oil, in addition to oil pulling w/ coconut oil
...then, maybe because i stopped taking the coconut oil with it, the xylitol started to cause me digestive discomfort so i for the time being have stopped taking teaspoonfuls ...i recommend taking teaspoons but take each with a little coconut oil to see if that prevents digestive discomfort)
...now im going to start treating my gums, allover, with a treatment gel and tray system ...if that helps even more, i'll post about it!
as always, sorry i wrote so much, and hope this helps someone!
Please use caution with oregano oil and xylitol! I would take very little internally and only for a brief period of time. Xylitol's benefits don't come from consuming it internally anyway; so brushing with it and then letting it melt and swishing the "juices" in your mouth for a few minutes are effective. You can also put one of the mints in your mouth, allow it to melt, and swish that around as you would with oil pulling, only you can swallow it when done and it won't harm you at all. Doing that five or six times daily is effective as you can get with xylitol. More won't make a difference, and less than five times probably won't be effective. Oregano oil is similar, it WILL cause digestive problems if taken in too great a quantity or for longer than a week. Trouble is, bodies are different and you won't know how strongly yours will react until you take it. Rather than taking it internally, I would just put a few drops in your pulling oil and swish with it.
I am in the same boat as you and need 12 teeth fixed that have silver in them. I have a tooth filled with a root canal all silver.. It is not cheap and he also told me that I had a jaw infection that I need scraped out. I think I will cure that with Oregano oil, or at least try to.. before the next appointment... How are you doing now???
