I have been on the paleo diet - as I understand it - for 13 days now. Of various diets I have tried over the years this one has caused the most fatigue & least weight loss (about 2 1/2 pounds in 2 weeks.).
I had already given up grains most of the time - & that did not seem to bother me at all. But I have been a major milk-aholic, not uncmmonly drinking a gallon in a day (organic.)
Now I am having no no llquid milk as well as no grains, and of course no caffeine, fruit juices, things with sugar in them - actually no processed food at all and virtually all organic - but based on what I saw as being paleo-ok on some sites, I am having soft & hard cheeses & yogurt.
I do eat very small amounts of dried blueberries & dried strawberries, an apple & 1/2 orange a day. I just dron't think it's wise to get rid of those kinds of foods. I eat tons of sprouts, and white chicken, eggs, liver, mushrooms, whey, butter, coconut oil, sauerkraut, wheatgrass & barley grass powder and rejuvelac (a fermented drink made from wheat berries having virtually no sugar or carbohydrates).
I feel something was happening because I did have die off initially (maybe still am having it, maybe you can tell me) in terms of headaches that came and went in varioius parts of my skull. Those are gone now. Some stiffness I had if sitting very long has gone so that seems encouraging.
Mentally I feel sharp. I'm not really depressed, just moving slooowly and everything seems a much bigger physcial effort.
Most folk seem to say that after 2 weeks you get better and then have lots more energy. Is that really going to happen? It's what I'm hanging in there for.
I can't give up the yogurt, cheeses & the mentioned fruits. I personally don't think that would be wise. Anyway I'm weak enough with including them.
