Avalon1,
There are hundreds of medications that cause tinnitus and in many causes doctors negligently give them to people who have tinnitus, or don't take the patient off of them (not the the patient should be taken off of anything, since he or she hired the doctor and isn't "taking orders") when they develop the problem.
Mainstream doctors and their irrefutable allegiances to mainstream medicine and it's profit driven treating forever instead of healing once methodology aside, most people have a mindset that guarantees their failure when trying to recover from tinnitus.
In fact, that very word recover, is not part of their mindset. What they're focused on is relieving the symptom of any number of a litany of health problems caused by any number of a litany of health hazards. That's how they've been trained.
Questions they never consider:
1. Why do I have tinnitus.
2. Is it because I haven't taken X, Y or Z surgery or drug or even natural remedy?
3. If so, how come I haven't had it my whole life. And if not how can such a treatment be a lasting solution?
Answering these questions requires little more than a little research on what tinnitus is and the basic ways in which ear function can be impaired such as stress, high or low blood pressure or sugar levels, electromagnetic frequency exposure, nutritional deficiencies (especially the B vitamins, zinc, selenium and magnesium), noise (as it appears may be something that precipitated your condition), an ear or neck injury, a sinus infection etc...
All of these possible culprits I've mentioned are scientifically linked to tinnitus, or at least an inner-ear environment favoring tumultuous "T". Often several culminate to trigger it in earnest.
