I just started this to support my adrenals. It's "A proprietary blend containing porcine adrenal, gonad, hypothalamus and pituitary concentrates processed to remove hormones."
I was actually feeling pretty much OK before I started it, but I wanted to take it because I'm trying to do mercury chelation and that really stresses the adrenals (as I found out when I did a couple rounds a few months ago). I am just taking 1 pill in the morning because I wanted to start slow. But this product actually seems to be making things worse. Last night when I went to bed, I kept almost falling asleep but then suddenly waking up. And today, I got really dizzy to the point of falling over when I got up from lying down (symptom of low blood pressure). I've also experienced increased anxiety. I experienced these symptoms before when I was doing chelation, but they had gone away.
How can this product possibly be giving me symptoms of adrenal fatigue?
Your symptoms do show adrenal dysfunction. Especially the dizzyness when standing up. This is called orthostatic hypothension and results from a failure of the adrenal glands to maintain proper blood pressure to the brain as gravity pulls the blood away from the brain.
I do not recommend glandulars for therapy. They will atrophy the glands they substitute for making the problems worse.
If you check through the adrenal suuport forum I have posted methods of building the adrenals with nutiriton and herbs. There is also a list of things to avoid such as caffeine and steroids.
Go back and read my post more carefully. I did not say one symptom, I said symptoms! I went on to say especially the orthostatic hyotension, which is a dead give-a-way to adrenal dysfunction. Especially with the other symptoms.
And you can safely address supporting the adrenals whether or not you have adrenal dysfunction. Your line of thinking would be like saying avoid anything with vitamin C since you don't want to support the adrenals unless you know for sure you have adrenal dysfunction to begin with. This would actually be rather irrational thinking as it is harder to treat adrenal dysfunction than to prevent it. If you have read my posts on adrenal function you would have seen that my recommendations both support the adrenals but also help address dysfunction if present, all without supplements that could harm the adrenals such as glandulars. I also tell people things to avoid to help prevent causing adrenal disorders.
