I was recently scheduled for a Colonoscopy, which requires a bowel prep. The reason for the test is to investigate the reasons for my severe constipation. To maintain some sort of regularity I take 2-3 doses of miralax/day, and if no bowel movement by day 4 I take an enema.

Any here is the prep I did which did not work.
2 days before
Clear liquids only
Mag Citrate 7pm

1 day before
2 bisacoldyl tabs (5mg) at 2pm
2 bisacoldyl tabs (5mg) at 4pm
Start Miralax/Gatorade Prep at 6pm

After taking the mag citrate at 7pm, I still had no BM by 10 am the next morning. Called Dr office, they told me that some people take longer than others.

No action after taking the bisacodyl tabs. Called Dr. office again before they closed to findout if they wanted me to do anything differently, but I had to leave a message.

BMs started at 7pm that night after having started drinking the Miralax prep, but by the last time I went, I still wasn't clear.

I drank more miralax over and above what was required at 10pm. Still not clear the next morning.

The day of the procedure, so I took a fleets enems, but that wasn't enough.

So I got there, they got the IV going and gave me the drugs and started the procedure but said they could do the procedure because I wasn't clear enough.

I think I did everything I could to be adequately prepped. Has anyone had similar experiences?

I was told to reschedule in a month and they would give another prep regime to follow. I look forward to all your responses. This is new to me and I've been dealing with this constipation problem for 3 months now.
