Place:
PETER DEADMAN: The point is located on the midline on the uppper abdomen, 4 cun superior to the umbilicus, and halfway between the umbilicus and the sternocostal angle.
C.A.M: The point is located on the midline of the abdomen, 4 cun above the umbilicus.
Innervation: The anterior cutaneous branch of the seventh intercostal nerve.
Vasulature: The superior epigastric artery and vein.
DAN BENSKI: The point is located 4 units directly above the navel.
Anatomy: Supplied by the superior epigastric artery and vein, and by a medial, anterior cutaneous branch of the seventh intercostal nerve (in the pyloric region of the stomach).
Technique:
Perpendicular needling, 0.8-1.5 cun.
Caution: With thin patients, deep needling may penetrate the peritoneal cavity.
