I was just wondering if anyone who has PCOS, if any my symptoms sound familiar to you. I also have a history of when I was 12 yr old having Lymes Disease and Malnutrition which was treated but had developed issues afterwards not feeling well like I explain below.
I am 29 yr old and petite, optimistic and determined person. Always been lean, was a gymnast most my life but relaxed peronality. Although I always had hypoglycemia despite eating right and being the right weight. Most my problems started when at 13 my period started. I seemed to start with migranes and terrible pain for cramps. Then my period was heavy, 6-8 days flow and I was bloated around my waist during that time and in general weight was abdomen gain. I also developed
food allergies then I found to Corn and dairy. I started with ovarian cysts bad and when I stopped the dairy they stopped.
I started at 18 with a diet with no caffeine, choclate or simple
Sugar at all. For that I carried out 11 years now. My period since I was 26 has started to become normal. Light, 3-4 days and cramping and not as severe, its where tylenol actually works now. Yet I get deep uterine cramps that are annoying in a nauseating way for 3 days usually into it. My last sono said my uterus showed it was a little "thick" but I have to go back for another to compare it still. One weird thing I always remember is, I used to always also have my period stop on the 3rd day always then start back up. never understood that.
Cycle was always 28 days most my life. Sometimes 35 days at most. Al this time I had bloodwork that says I have high insulin despite a controlled diet. High Cholesterol despite I eat right. With eating right I still get hypoglycemic reactions and low blood pressure 85-90/60. I have increased facial hair growth over the years since 16. Side burns, upper lip, chin has 3 hairs dark black and stomach around naval I have dark "male like" looking hair growth. which has made me insanely wax and shave avoiding it.
Acne also has been prevalent since 21 years old out of nowhere and no one in my family has it, which I find weird. Seems to flair with the oily skin week prior to cycle and takes another week and half to stop break out.
Once with sickness my period stopped for 3 months, I felt Wonderful! No headaches, no feeling ugh somedays. No blood
Sugar problem or if so it was barely reminding me daily. I felt great. my nutritionist at the time said I would probably feel great pregnant. My mom did as well. My whole family women had migranes and bad cramps with their period then menopause or first birth it stopped bothering them.
I do have a history of ovarian cysts that usually resolve on their own yet I have the bad pain when present and cymptoms. I recently started now with breast cysts. I am wondering if any of this sounds familar to anyone what they went through. My fathers sister out of 4 sisters had ovarian cancer. Other then that there is no history. Just mainly Diabetes and stroke run in the family with Autoimmune Diseases on my mothers side and my mother.
My endocronologist wants to do more of a work up on my autoimmune antibodies for thyroid etc cause of the hypo and few other tests. I have seen a nutritonist for 8 years and I stopped for while just because I carry my routine. My headaches are managed as long as I am low stress.
My symptoms now:
I do have memory loss that is pretty prevalent though even though I am a very analytical, love to read type.. the excess hair growth, low blood pressure or some days easily spiked blood pressure from 90/60 to 140/70 easily if just in general laughing company. Body doesn't cope with stress well. Easily get into adrenaline moments from something little shocking. I have true hypoglycemia with 60 lows and memory loss and confusion and nausea when it drops or after exercise its hell too. I can't eat fruit for the past 10 years even. I get tired easily too but feel "stimulated" so much I can't sleep with racing thoughts when I work or do mental tasks all day long. My mom had this and they placed her on Isocort (adrenal support) and it stopped it for her. But I don't take it unless I find a more prevalent symptom beyond that. My body temp is typically 97.5 as well. As a child I was 98.5 when I felt great. Since this all started in the past 10 years getting worse I did lose weight where I have low body fat. But the body temp. I just dont tolerate heat well or extreme cold. My stomach too, I had an ulcer last year for the first time. Crave salt often. But not sweets ever. Craeve oddily tomatoes too and steak.
I didn't know what test do they perform to see if you have PCOS? Just testosterone and androgen? Or anyone with Adrenal thoughts too. My urine Cortisol and Catacholmines was fine but I never had the saliva test done for Cortisol. My body perosnally to me just feels like its gone through too much stress my whole life unplanned and unresolved. Anything normal today like working is too much on me it seems. If I sit home and read and just lay low and socialize. I am great. The hypoglycemia still exists but its not terrible then because I am not actively movin around etc.
I appreciate you reading and anyones input, thank you!!
