Hi Justin60,
I use 1 tablespoon of Epsom Salts to 2 quarts of coffee. I find that this provides a better liver cleanse than coffee only. I usually take 2 one quart coffee retention enemas in a session and only use the E.S. in the first enema.
I always take a series soapsuds enema prior to the coffee enemas and end the session with a saline solution enema. For a good liver cleanse I repeat this for 3 consecutive days.

Hi Justin60,
There is quite a difference between magnesium sulfate and magnesium citrate. Epsom Salts is magnesium sulfate. Magnesium citrate is often called “citrate”. There are also magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide; both are used as bowel cleansers.
My main experience has been with magnesium sulfate or Epsom salts. The best time to take E.S. is on a totally empty stomach say first thing after you wake up. The dose varies between individuals and is also dependent on your physical size. For the average person I would take from one to two tablespoons of E.S. dissolved in a large glass of hot water. If you are mainly attempting to work on your liver after drinking the E.S. lay down on your right side to 10 to 15 minutes.
This dosage should produce a BM within two hours. If not take second dose of half the E.S. of the first dose. I have not seen anyone not responding to this treatment.
Please read my blog titled “My challenge”, link below.
I hope this helps.
