Good post - thank you Ketchup. That just about sums up many of my symptoms and I am obtaining some relief by taking LIvertone Plus by Sandra Cabot (www.liverdoctor.com) along with drinking dandelion root coffee (stimulates bile flow - bile helps carry out toxins from the liver), magnesium (helps liver detox), Leceithin (helps the liver deal with fat). My eyes are looking less yellow nowadays and some of my sensitivites are improving. I tried liver flushing but that made me very very ill - I dont think people with weak livers can tolerate all that oil anyway. I think you can still help your liver with supplements - some of my symptoms are improving anyhow.
i drink dandellion tea and my homepathic drops are clearing my organs out i wouldnt dare do liver flushing i think people with weak livers and weak digestion are asking for trouble with liver flushing my liver showed up congested on my tests but my nutropath did say that to get rid of candida u need to strenghen your organs including liver gall bladder and remove heavy metals and mercury and parasites
Well, isn't it interesting; another curezone poster who got very ill after liver flushing! I can relate to that.;-D
Seth, I am just providing this list as info; I am not a doctor or naturopath, so I do not have a ready made treatment for sluggish liver, just finding my way by trial and error like the rest of us here, and I do not consider myself competent to provide medical prescriiptions.
That's pretty much it. You missed one of the most obvious though, pain in the upper right part of your abdomen. It pretty much feels like someone drove a screwdriver into your abdomen, 24/7.
Well that's very interesting. Some cleaning products make me *very* ill, the products the janitor use on my floor have put me in bed for 24 hours a few times, it's that bad. I can't be around smokers either, i get ill. I can't drink or eat anything with caffeine, my heart beat goes thru the roof and I'm only 32 years old! I have many of the other symptoms you listed except i've never had any pain in my liver.
Doesn't everyone have a funny smell in their urine after eating asparagus?
Ketchup, how do you know that these symptoms are caused by a weak liver and not something else? What can be done to rectify the problem (other than flushing)?
Steh, this is based on a research I did on the net, and a number of books I read--in particular Dr Gilbere's--she had the problem for years and she proposes a number of interesting therapies in these books.
Google ''congested'' or ''sluggish'' liver, and you will find these same symptoms listed on the sites dealing with liver disease.
And of course, sluggish liver applies to you only if you have MOST of the symptoms listed. if you have only a few, it could be something else.
What is the best way to test for congested/sluggish liver?
I know there are a bunch of tests like liver enzymes tests, and tests for different liver diseases, isn't the test need for the congested/sluggish condition a different one?
