So I am truly taking off the bulk of the weight I have wanted to lose but have some more to go. I do push ups, crunches, bike, and run. I have noticed that my arms have some loose skin on them even while flexing.
From my highest weight, I've lost over 100 Lbs so far and since I had switched over to juice fasting and eating raw I noticed my skin had really tightened up. As of right now, I no longer have any loose skin and I hope to keep it that way! Plus, you've got age on your side. Here's some links that I had posted in my blog about the subject of loose skin:
"I have seen people lose over 50 pounds in 30 days without flabby skin. Natural elasticity and skin tone had been restored. Their friends were in shock as the difference was so amazing...."
I didnt get the chance to read the other links posted above...Which THANK YOU! I love reading about this subject. But what I have experienced and read it can take up to a year for the skin to tighen up. I have lost a lot and would say thats true.
Things that help:
- maintaining weight - plumps the muscle underneath with glycogen for smoother look.
- time - Skin needs it
- Nutrition - multivitamin and good for you food
- habits - smoking is TERRIBLE for skin recovery. Quit it if you can. Exercise..that makes everything look better
Lotions never did much for me. Eating well and not smoking did leaps and bounds.
I lost 94 Lbs while fasting and refeeding on raw veggies and fruits. I actually did a 40 day Water Fast followed by 2 months of eating raw. It was during this time that I lost all of the weight. After the 40 day water fast, I did have some loose skin, but as soon as I started eating raw and then followed it up with a 40 day juice fast, my skin was tight and you could never tell I had loose skin. So it only took me about 3 1/2 months to tighten it up. (I did skin brushing too). And I'm 33 years old!
severin, did you lose almost 100 pounds in 3 1/2 months? that's amazing!
would you mind telling me more precisely what you did? I think I understood something like:
- 40 days water fast
- followed by raw diet (vegan?) for approx 2 months
- and finally 40 days of juice fast
have you regained anything? are you at optimal weight now?
I'm very admired of your discipline. I don't know if I would make it, but I've suffered so much that who knows I might take out some character and go for it. I've now tried for three days the alternate day diet that red_Ink posted about and it is also very effecive, really awesome, but I doubt it would be SO effective.
Please if you find the time can you tell me more about your incredible result? thank you and congratulations!
