In Colorado it is unlawful for any barber, cosmetician/esthetician, cosmetologist, manicurist, or hairstylist to independently perform ear candling or coning (also known as auricular candling or coning). Any licensee found to be performing ear candling or coning is subject to fines and disciplinary action including revocation of licensure.
