Day 30! by katiemarie .....

I Rock!

Wow. I feel good! What an accomplishment this is.  When I first started my juice fast my goal was three days at a time (day 3, 5, 7, 10 and so forth). 30 days sounded wonderful to me but I didn't want to set myself up for failure by making my goal so high and then feeling badly, hit the junk food. I think that really helped me persevere - one day at a time mentality. Well, three days at a time. ;) Unfortunately, when we went to the Russian River on Sunday, I started my period and have been in a lot of pain ever since. Not quite as bad today. I didn't even walk yesterday because I felt so dizzy. The swimming on Sunday wore me out but I kept thinking it would be good for my body. Laying in the sun afterwards was the highlight of the day. We had the river to ourselves and we all fell asleep in the sun, even the dog. If we had had a tent and some sleeping bags, we could have stayed the night.

I may weigh in tomorrow or may not. I really wanted to give people an accurate number of how much I lost in 30 days because I know it helped me when I was searching cure zone for the first time.

On another note, I don't think I'm ready for food yet. I would need to go shopping tonight and buy my fruits for the post fast grazing and I don't think I'm ready. Maybe I'll feel differently later today. Hunger has not returned yet. But I actually think I may lose more weight on a fruit and vegetable diet than I am now - does that sound nuts? But I'm hardly consuming any calories at all now and my metabolism has probably slowed way down, hanging onto every pound. I'm on the fence, chewing my nails (not literally) trying to figure out where I go from here.

My boyfriend set up my Total Gym last night which my Mom gave me. It had been sitting in her storage shed. I'm very excited to use that piece of equipment. I've mostly just been walking my hour a day, which has been wonderful but not helping tone me up.  When I start really working out I really have to stay off the scale. My weight jumps all over the place when I do. More and more I'd like to get away from the scale. Doing good so far. Last weigh in was Friday.

I'm going to try to just focus on my accomplishment today instead of racing ahead of myself with all the long term goals. I should enjoy this moment and bask in it for awhile.
