First Day of Work without Cigs or Coffee by #72278 .....

Overall, this is not an effort. I am not struggling here.

I do feel some aches in my body. My Joints and muscles have apparently been the major targets of the cigarette and coffee chemicals. I have not really stretched or exercised much since cessation. I will try to do so today. My attitude is fairly even, though slightly on the sharper side...I feel a bit more quick witted (even without coffee!) though not really sociable. I drank Orange Juice this A.M. before leaving the house and had a cup of green tea here at work. Green tea tastes like alfalfa or nettles...very earthy. The caffeine has me a bit bouncy, but not anxious. I am using green tea because Dr. O'Shea allows for it. The standard I am pursuing is his program: The New West Diet and ultimately his colon/blood detox program.

To adhere to his standard I have to leave cigarettes and coffee behind me. Other than that, I am quite good with my diet. I pursue locally grown, organic vegetables and fruits and primarily consume those. I drink unpasteurized milk and juices and consume unpasteurized dairy products primarily. I do not consume sugar as a rule, though sometimes I do while at work. This is an area I will have to be strict about. I am working at finding consistent sources of decent sprouted grain bread or Ezekiel bread. So for the most part I am nearly on the New West Diet. I simply have to get through my addiction to pollutants in cigs and coffee.

Overall, this is not an effort. I am not struggling here. I could and have suffered more for less potential gains. So I am happy with my progress and really look forward to a long future of smoke and coffee-free life.
