How I got to where I am

Now for a little background. About ten years ago I started having these mysterious pains in my knees and lower legs. I asked my then Medical Doctor about it and he told me I was old and fat and on my feet all day, of course my legs would hurt. I accepted this as my lot in life for being old (about 43), fat and on my feet. A few years later my wrists began to hurt and my hands go numb. The doctor said it was probably carpal tunnel and might need surgery. I told him my legs were hurting. I was less fat by then, but older and still on my feet most of the day, he didn't say anything much, just that when the time came I could get a knee replacement. I pretty well gave up, satisfied that I could be fixed if things got too bad.

As time went on I got promoted a couple of times and traded being on my feet all day to being under a lot of stress. There were family problems involving an inheritance, stress at work from above and below, and a promising relationship failed when I was suddenly dumped for someone younger and prettier. One day I collapsed at work and was rushed to the local clinic. My old MD had moved on and I got a new doctor. My blood pressure was high, I got medicine. I had a lot of reflux, I got medicine. When I complained that the blood pressure medicine wasn't working I got more medicine-anti-depressants. Each prescription came with the words "take this for the rest of your life". I decided not to.

For almost a year I coasted along, not feeling well, but not really sick. I had a teaching ministry at church that meant the world to me, the job was hard, but OK, I pretty well gave up on relationships. Then, one day I went backward a few inches and hit hard. The pain began. Since this was a potential workman's comp case the local doctors refused to see me. I could not get anyone to take me to the hospital, and I admit I was reluctant to go. I remembered this strange man I had met a week or two before. I was limping pretty bad from my sore knees and explained that I was probably going to have to have surgery. He looked at me a minute, reached out and rubbed the back of my neck and said he didn't think the problem was my knees it was in my neck. I asked if he was a chiropractor or something and he said yes. So I decided to call this strange man that I had met for just a few minutes. The problem was in my neck, compressed cervical vertebrae. I did well with him, but two more injuries followed because I refused to take care of myself and went back to living on Cokes and Hershey bars for energy, and cheeseburgers for my main meal. Now I was in trouble, I had to quit my job because I could no longer do the heavy work. It was a long time healing, but I made it thanks to a good chiropractor and this Curezone site where I learned so much about cleansing and proper diet. I had eighteen good months.
