30 Day Juice Fast Journey -- Day Six by Dazzle .....

Today was a bit off center...

Well, since I ended yesterday's blogging about my daughter being in a car accident, I'll bring you all up to date.  While her truck was trashed, the front end destroyed, she is well.  She spent several hours at the hospital while they monitored her and when she left she was instructed to lay low, rest, be easy for the next few days.  So, all's well that ends well, if I may be so trite.  But it was really scary.  That's two scary things I've had to deal with on this fast.

Has anyone noticed that when they're stressed they feel hungry?  I'm not sure if I noticed that reaction before. But last night I got hungry while worried about my daughter and today I felt hungry on and off.  It was more of an annoyance than true discomfort.  Still... an annoyance is annoying!  No getting around that.

My husband's uncle flew in.  I made up a couple cheeseburgers with sauteed baby portabellos and onions, with fresh homefries on the side and a big fat gorgeous salad with everything in it, chunks of sharp chedder, sliced grapes, roasted almonds, onions, peppers, tomatoes, baby spinach and romaine, toasted croutons... oh man, was I almost ready to... take a bite of someone's cheeseburger, or grab a homefry and run to the bathroom and shut myself in while I basked in such delicious flavors... but... I stopped myself before I lost control.  I rarely experience problems when I'm cooking for my husband or anyone else.  But like I said, I was hungry last night and off and on today... and was a little weakened.  But I made it through.  So I am in the office sipping hot veggie broth while I write this, while they're out back on the lanai chomping down on delicious slop.  I have 24 more days on this fast, plus a week getting back into eating... and maybe even another week before I can eat something like a cheeseburger without the cramps.  So that's like a month and a week before I can eat a cheeseburger.

Well, I think a couple of the girls in my Yahoo Groups are going to buy themselves juicers.  I am so delighted.  I am just tickled pink.  I challenged them to a weight loss competition.  First one to lose 30 pounds wins $100 in Lush (www.Lush.com --- fantastic handmade cosmetics).  I already know I am going to win because I am on a juice fast.  But, between you and me, I am not going to announce when I've made it to the 30 pound loss mark.  I don't care about winning.  I care about them changing their lifestyles and eating habits.  I care about their wellbeing and I want them to be healthier and therefore happier towards life.  Even if they never go on a sustained juice fast, just adding the juices to their lives will make a huge difference in their health all around.  I've known these women for some seven years now and I've been trying to inspire them to do this that long.  So, when they read this blog, they'll learn they've been sabataged into juicing and changing their eating habits via the weight loss competition.

Today we had a wrong number call our answering machine while we were out.  It went like this:

"Paul?  I can't go bowling tonight.  My eye is all swolled up from where the woman hit me last night."
click

The caller sounded like a very old man.  I guess, he couldn't see the numbers because of his swolled  up eye and Paul (whoever he is) will call him eventually and ask him where he is.  Then the old feller will wonder just who he called and shared his swolled up eye story with.  We got a chuckle.  Hope you do.

Today, all day, was a bit off center and that's probably due to my daughter and the accident.  I didn't do anything specific except to prepare for my husband's uncle's arrival and nothing different for the fast.  So, I am ending tonight's blog a bit short and will catch up with you all tomorrow.

Enjoy your evening...

Talk soon,
