2 weeks post fast by ausjulie .....

why wont this weight disappear?

today was weigh in day, i have lost only 1 pound since last week. yes still going down but 1 pound man that is slow. worse still no movement on the tape measure (except half inch in upper arm). i weighed myself on sunday and i was 1.5 pounds lighter than i am today(wednesday) - so i have put on weight in three days. damn. im not sure why it is i really dont feel like i have eaten enought to warrant this.

i finished the oxypowder cleanse. i have mixed feelings about it. by far it is the best stuff i have taken in regards to laxatives and when i start fasting again i will be usign this. i didnt see any black stuff in the toilet though and i really thougth i might have. im not sure if others have seen more results from a 7 day cleanse on oxy powder???? maybe i am cleaner than i think. i am having 3-4 BM's per day now without taking anything i have heard this is quite good. it is almost withing 40mins after i eat anything substantial (like my salad).

my diet is mainly raw foods but i do have some cooked things now and then. yesterday i was 100% raw and today probably 80%. my breakfast is always a banana maybe an apple and a nectarine or mandarin. i may add another banana or some grapes or whatever fruit i have thru out the day if i am hungry. i average 4-5 pieces of fruit a day. for lunch i am having a huge salad. this consists of spinach, lettuce cucumber loads of tomatoes 1/4 advocado 1 grated carrot sunflower kernels(raw) and i usually add some grilled peppers, mushroom adn occasionally lightly steamed asparagus. if any dressing it is only a small amount of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. teh grilled veggies are my non raw food i just love them and i find they really fill me up. i still dont think i am havign too many of them probably less than 1/4 red and yellow pepper each and 3 small mushrooms. i use a small amount of olive oil to grill. on a day i am trying to go 100% raw i dont add the veggies to the salad, those days i find i am hungry later in the day so i will usually have some dinner of cut up cucumber tomatoes and 1/4 advocado adn sliced assorted fruit. i have noticed that i am adding too much salt to the tomatoes and advocados but it really tastes good. if i feel hungry at all i will eat only fruit, nibble on some raw nuts, herbal tea adn water. i know i am still not drinking enough water, i am really trying to fix this -ive never been a big water drinker except when i was on the fast so i have to make myself drink. i wonder if my metabolism is starting to get back to normal??? i feel hungrier in the last few days???? actually looking for somethign to eat rather than making myself remember to eat.

twice in the last week i had a fillet of grilled fish. no additives except lemon juice so i made sure it was low fat. i craved it so badly i just decided to have it. (it was bloody good too!) i also had some alcohol on the weekend i did not over do it and i made sure i drank lots of water. so maybe the grilled fish and wine was the result of so low a weight loss. but i thought my exercise would compensate for that. i have ran or walked everyday. i have slacked off a bit on the extra exercises like weights etc but i have ran more days and started to run furhter so i thought this would burn up extra calories. i am disappointed in teh weight loss and not sure what i am willing to give up to try and increase the loss. so i'm pretty sure i am going back to a juice fast after spring break. i will try to lose more this week by having more days of 100% raw..... but i love those grilled veggies.

other than teh weight i still feel really good. i feel like i can maintain a good weight/lifestyle now - i dont feel the need to eat crap and i wont go a day withoug exercising. emotionally i feel stronger. i have started working in an office 4 days a week and i feel more confident in that environment than i know i would have a month ago. so this is all still really good aspects of the fast/lifestyle changes. anyway i will continue to eat the way i have which i think is a pretty good diet. and see what the scales will say next week. i will try to go 100% raw every second day. i thougth about trying to do more exercise but i think an hour walk or run everyday should be enough. if next week there is no imporvement in the weight loss i may need to reassess. i know this blog is a lot about weight loss now adn it will continue to be. i have a goal to reach and i wont stop until i get there. but please know that i am doing really well in many other aspects of my life and i do feel liek i have made some changes that are really positive on a day to day basis. now if just the weight would go i could relax a little adn reap the benefits.
