thank heavens for an unexpected opportunity to walk today!

Unexpectedly, a walking opportunity came up in the early afternoon. Well, I know this is a Morning Walk blog, but since I have not been on as many of my treasured walks lately as I had hoped, I would like to share this early afternoon walk with you.

My car is in the shop for today. Awesome chance to do some practical walking!

Walking from my house to my VIBE Machine studio/office was a 1.3 mile brief pleasant walk.

The weather today is unusually clear and warm for February in Colorado. Perfect for all forms of outdoor activity. The first part of my journey was from my street to the main street 3 blocks away. Although it was the time the children usually get out of the elementary school up the street, there were no children walking on any of the side streets. I wondered if it might be a school holiday. When one's children are grown one loses touch a bit with the school holidays and such.

On the main street there were some high school age young people walking with backpacks, so I suppose there's not a school holiday after all. Lots of litter stuck to the residential fences facing the main street on the edges of some of the properties. It was stuck inside the fences, or I would have gathered as much as I could to throw away or recycle. I like to do that, keep the environment clean.

Since it became clear I was going to be slightly late arriving at my studio, I was walking at a faster pace than on my usual relaxed morning walks.

There's a whole different quality to afternoon walks as compared to morning walks. Hard to describe.

It's that time of day when people have gotten back from their lunch hour breaks, settled back in to the work-a-day grind, and then experienced the afternoon blahs that so often set in. The time when workers head to the soda machine or candy machine or their secret junk food stash drawer(of course CureZoners never do anything like that, right? ;)

The whole energy of my surroundings while walking was decidedly different than on my morning walks. It sure felt good to be doing some walking again!

I found myself thinking about a phone call from my HMO Doctor received just prior to leaving the house. Not the best news. But this is why I first began to explore here at CureZone so many months ago. To find alternative ways to work toward an improved state of health. And I continue to be determined to do just that.

I arrived at my studio feeling energized and revitalized. Hmmm..maybe I should walk to my studio in the afternoons more often?
