Did I mention I was a coffee drinker?

Last night, after day 1 I had the most horrific headache in my life. Since I don't actually get headaches, it was pretty bad.

I couldn't decide if it was coffee withdrawal or the fact that still have the flu. (this is the first flu for which I've actually had headaches from).

Anyway, since I have the flu I haven't felt much like eating. This is extremely good as I suspect I'll get over that craving hump very quickly without alot of self-torture.

Have you ever noticed just how many food commercials there are on tv? Or when you walk down the street, just how many restaurants are there?

Just saw a documentary yesterday on 'Big Sugar'. I believe it was on Dateline. It was about the sugar industry and how it all started around the time that colonists were importing black slaves. It was terrible! And unfortunately, is still happening. Although the slaves are now local.

And then they went on to show how we as consumers are slaves to Big Sugar as well. It's in everything! Unless you eat nothing but meat, vegetables, and fruit, you are going to come into contact with sugar of some kind.

And we won't get started on that little aspartame problem of turning into wood alcohol at high temperatures and formaldehyde at low temperatures. (Google Aspartame and Wood Alcohol).

Oh, and I saw a little excerpt of something last night how fructose, that main component of corn syrup, may be implicated in the diabetes disease and there are studies underway to determine this now. That brought me to a startling thought. Perhaps our overindulgence of FRUIT, may also be a problem with it's high fructose contents. Like apples and bananas.

And if one was to follow the natural order of things and only eat what's in season, we should only be eating apples for about 2-4 months of the year, oranges for the same length of time, and bananas not at all for those of european descent.

Just a thought. Not making any real claims here..

Have to go for my 6th feed of the day.
