A little background information! by #35527 .....

Trying to lose weight has been a constant theme in my life! The last few years have brought success and failure in terms of the number on the scale.

Just turned 30!
Married, mother of 5 year old
5'8''
Medium build, My arms and legs are slim. I tend to gain weight in my mid-section and inner thighs.

Over the course of two years (2002-2004) I lost over 50 lbs (highest weight 214). I got down to 158 lbs., which is a size 8 or 10 for my frame. Last year, I started taking Zoloft for anxiety. I was on it for 6 months and gained about 30 lbs.

I water fasted in January and lost 12 pounds, but my sorry eating habits put me right back at 180 lbs. I tried to fast again in March, but do to some emotional issues, I wasn't able to strictly fast and I lost very little weight. I became discouraged and quit.

I turned 30 last Sunday, and I felt like it was time to get a handle on my food issues. I tried on shorts from last year and though I can zip and button them, they are too tight to wear. Ya know the dreaded "overhang" of fat on the sides. Ugh! I have been restricting calories and have gotten down to 177.

I would like to lose the seven pounds that will allow me to wear my clothes from last year. Then I would like to lose 10 more pounds to allow me to look good in said clothes!!! Eventually I would like to try to get down to 145-150.
