Probiotics is a general term to refer to friendly bacteria that live in your intestines. They are part of the natural flora and candida can take all of the space because they are no longer around (antibiotics are one major factor). These friendly bacteria compete with candida for space and it is a major part of candida treatment.

The ONLY time that it is NOT proper to take probiotics is when you suffer from leaky gut. If you r gut are leaky, because candida thread, drilling through the intestinal wall to reach for blood vessel creates a leak that allow undigested food and bacteria to enter your body, while they should simply remain in your bowels. Leaky gut will let the friendly bacteria in and then, your immune system must struggle to kick them out.

Otherwise it is advisable to keep supplementing in probiotics (be it supplements, Kefir, sauerkraut or yogurt) all along and especially so when you do a bowel cleanse as the cleanse tend to get rid of everything good and bad.

Friendly bacteria produce biotin, a substance that prevent candida to stick to the intestinal walls. Therefore taking biotin supplements is often also recommended.

Here is a list of probiotics that will adapt to your intestinal environment:
