Roots Vision, a class on philosphical Influences on Ernest Holmes

Date:   5/27/2005 2:38:33 PM ( 19 y ago)

I am taking classes at Midtown Church-One of them is about some of the philosphical influences of on Ernest Holmes. These philosophers are Emerson, the great essayist on nature and the natural order of "things". Emma Hopkins, a woman who first was associated with Chrisitan Science and then broke away and formed her own brand of "new thought". And Troward, a English judge that served in India during the "Jewel in the Crown" era. Of these, Troward is the only one I have not read, or even heard of. I was not looking forward to him, based on his (rumor has it)- very long analytical writing style BUT now that I know he served in India...I am very interested to see the ethnocentric version or interperation of Hinduism, and other Indian Cultural values.

This thing one already knows-if it was an influence on Holmes, who has a plethora (I said plethoria and you didn't!) of Eastern Thought in his philosophical outlook-Then Troward had to have some of the same. I am in my head a lot this week. I like to exercise the analytical part of my brain from time to time- It feels like a horse racing around the last lap with haunches stretching and Reaching- a veritable cornicopia of synapses lit up and blinking, BABY...Whooo Hooo-

Too bad mostly it has nothing to do with my heart! The Iron Fisted Mind! I inheirted from the "old man"! A brilliant malcontent. But this particular aspect of me serves me well in these types of classes and I have a suspicion this particular class will begin to close the gap between the Iron Fisted Synapses and the Open Heart. Just a guess but Embodiment is not far off, the primal me can smell it and taste it.

Whooo- Hoo- It's gonna be some Fun- Dancing with the Devil in the Pale Moonlight!

To Quote our President GW-"Bring It On"!

I'm a Stand for getting it on with myself- Embody all I know and all I AM at the cellular level. Bad to the Bone, Drench me in the Intimacy that is Me!
