Sweating Polar Bears

Sweating Polar Bears?
There are fewer places
to sit in the North Pole
now adays. We are each
being asked to connect the dots
asks Al Gore. The dots
I am helping connect have to
do with supporting your local
Joe the Farmer, and getting intimate
not only with him, but slowing
down enough to grow some of your
own food.

Just off the phone with Diane New Cohen.
That was a real treat, this Shabbat eve.
Got a change to read some of my
creations for the week
on "The Comeback of Joe the Farmer."

Shabbat is about rest.
I have not been resting since last Saturday.
I have been working night and day.
My body is paying.

I cannot say I have captured near 15% of all
the inspirations I have had.

It was a great joy to spend time in the garden
here in the not too late afternoon,
before settled down for an enjoyable
hour or so working up the rent checks
and then getting them into Union Bank before closing.

I have really been influenced this week by
Al Gore and "An Inconvenient Truth."
I was composing a letter to Al the other morning.

We both had loved ones that we lost at an early age.
He lost his sister Nancy to lung cancer. My mother
died when I was 12 years old. She smoked a lot too.
My mother's cancer was settled into her breasts and then
her hips.

One of my last coherent visits with her
was when she was at the Cedars-Sinai Hospital in LA.
She said out loud, "Must I die?"

I wrote all about that in my book, "Rekindling of Faith."
It is a good book and filled with wonderful poems
that deal with the theme of overeating and coming to
terms with an irritated bowel and months and months
of using up rain forests of toilet paper.

My mother's cancer settled in her hips.
I started to get hip symptoms a few years later.
The irritated bowel seemed to be another byproduct
of immune system invasion, the same that gets
diagosed as arthritis. All these kinds of dis ease,
as Dr. Jensen used the word, are immune system related.
Chemical sensitivity, bowel irritation. I see them as
Chronic fatigue--they are all just names for being under
attack. We were attacked. We can't seem to stop
attacking our self, until we stop.

It's all about Soul Growth, isn't it?
No, I do not believe with the people who have
great little short insensitive answers about how
we create our ouw illness. "Oh you really did a great
job of creating that!" one person recently said
to Twin Soul/Best Friend.

"I don't think so!" she now says.

I believe the body has a consciousness of its own.
When we are invaded by circumstances as children,
we start growing that way, until we stop growing
that way. It takes massive amounts of education to
grow a new way.

That is what the Curezone is all about.
Educating rather than Medicating.

Sweating Polar Bears?

There is a scene in "An Inconvenient Truth"
where these polar bears are swimming, attempting
to find a place to sit. The ice is melting so fast.

We will all come to realize we are in the same boat soon,
maybe literally.

Tony Blair was telling Al that before long we will have
to redo some of the maps.

No need to worry too much about the Twin Towers, or its
Memorial being attacked. It will be underwater if you and I
do not chill out Global Warming.

The guys who visit Greenland and the North Pole where
Santa Lives are going into shock. They cannot believe
they are witnessing such a meltdown.

Glaciers where the jet set used to go to ski are not dry land
in Europe.

Our unsustainable energy systems that have no bearing
on earth harmony are starting to bite us in the butt.

A few weeks ago, I saw this film "An Inconvenient Truth"
at a Birthday of the Trees event at Temple Beth Israel.
I was feeling weary that day, and happened to sit down
near a table by the door. I was resting my arm on a table.
I happened to pick up some of the literature about Climate
Control.

____

"In an influential paper published in Science, Zwally surmised that the ice sheets had accelerated in response to warmer temperatures, as summer meltwater lubricated the base of the ice sheet and allowed it to slide faster toward the sea.

In a way no one had detected, the warm water made its way through thousands of feet of ice to the bedrock - in weeks, not decades or centuries.

So much water streamed beneath the ice that in high summer the entire ice sheet near Swiss Camp briefly bulged 2 feet higher, like the crest of a subterranean wave. " --

The local Rotarian Service Club of Mission Valley had
reprinted that.

You can read it online.

That day I was invited to explore speaking at the Rotarians
by the elder gentleman at the table. We took a liking to each
other. Turned out we both admire Emerson.

He looked over my materials on Job's Tears. I hadn't started
writing on "The Comeback of Joe the Farmer" then.

I have seen Al Gore's film twice now.
Hope you see it soon and start connecting the dots
in your own life.

We can each help chill out Global Warming through the little
things we do.

Getting intimate with the person growing your food is one of those
things.

So open a seed packet soon, and get some Earth Intimacy going.
Set a Seed Dream to grow eat something you grow, even a sprout,
once a day. You will be amazed to see your life shift.
You may even become an Enchanted Gardener yourself of Soul and Soil.

The food you do not grow--
Strive to put a picture with the face.

Shop a market that strives to buy local food.
Support Heart and Soul Natural Food Companies who are tied
in deep where they live and working toward sustainability.

Whenever you can, buy locally from the "Joe the Farmer"
in your neck of the woods.

We are all in the same boat.
Sweating Polar Bears are asking us each slow down
a bit, so that they can land somewhere there is still
unmelted ice.

Your Enchanted Gardener
Leslie
