Adrienne Prince and I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of The Old Globe Theater and Balboa Park October 16, 2018 after dark.
We had just seen the sensational performance of The Heart of Rock and Roll, and spent time with lead actor Matt Doyle and his first teacher in the arts, Marilyn Izdebski.
We took the scenic route back to our car and were enchanted by the park’s dramatic lighting and the Feng Shui of the historic buildings.

I highly recommend taking a stroll after dark through this park, one of San Diego’s amazing wonders.

We will be back to review some of the park’s museums.

I spent this morning studying the website and reading more about the outstanding venue, and the Old Globe complex of three theaters.

I feel enriched by this experience. We will be back!

I Loved The Heart of Rock and Roll at the Old Globe Theatre San Diego

I received an education at the Old Globe Theater last night—October 16, 2018–in San Diego,
Thoroughly enjoyed the production of The Heart of Rock and Roll, a world premiere of the musical that we feel is destined to become a hit on Broadway.

Nadine Fournier worked on the lighting for the show, and Adrienne Prince and I attended this stellar performance as her guests.

My seat was front row center, and in the usual spirit of ##EnchantedGardenClub magic I sat next to Marilyn Izdebsk, of Marilyn Izdebski Productions. She had made a special trip to San Diego to beam out joy for the success of one of her past students, @Matt Doyle, who plays the male lead.
The entire cast gave a talented and high-energy performance around a creative narrative—which was quite delightful— intermixed with the work of popular 80’s songwriter and performers, Huey Lewis & The News.




Turns out that not only was Matt trained since junior high by Marilyn, but they also lived in the same neighborhood as Huey, in Marin County!

Adrienne and I loved spending time with Marilyn and Matt after the show.

We also met the wonderful Katie Rose Clarke, the female lead, who gives a tremendous performance in the show I shed a few tears in the scene of truth telling between her character Cassandra and her dad, Stone.

The show continues through Sunday and I highly encourage you to attend, if you can still find tickets to this very popular show!
